Paging @Mr.Sneis, who has first right of refusal on this. This is limited to Friends and established Contributors.

I'm selling this amp for a couple of reasons. I hadn't planned on keeping it long term- I wanted to experience at least several different amps before staying with something long term and figured I'd be unlikely to have the chance to hear a transformer based amp again so jumped on it back in January. Secondly, this amp is unique and I would like it to continue to be appreciated by other SBAF members.

Full disclosure: The bottom acrylic sheet of the casing cracked during transport between @manatworks and myself. I had a replacement made by a local signage company, they copied the original sheet and I swapped it in. The colour of the replacement acrylic matches great (see photo).

The idea behind the design is described on the ECP site. This was one of two prototypes, and the build process is documented here. If you look closely at some of build photos, you can see the same semi-circular chip on the right hand edge of the case, towards the rear.

This amp has been passed between SBAF members over the last four years. Here's the rundown as far as I've been able to follow it:

Acquired by me in January this year from manatworks.

Who in turn acquired it from Griffon (who got it from Mr.Sneis)

    Upgraded by MisterRogers:
    1. Replace the stock regulators with a couple of Belleson regulators.
    2. Upgraded some wiring with 23ga soft annealed silver interconnect wire.

The earliest mention of ownership I can find of it is back on Changstar:

Asking $550 + covering PayPal fees + shipping. Ballpark shipping figures for US/continental Europe are $60. Oz and UK are $50. This would be using Speedpost (the courier service of Hong Kong Post). I guess that a courier like UPS would be more.

The internal power supply handles both 110 and 220.

I'm a little surprised that you didn't get the top chip replaced while you were doing the bottom.

The odd thing is, it's not damage. It's like a very delicately removed scallop taken out of the top layer, like the original laser-cut path had a twitch programmed into it. Looks pretty good IRL.
