    Here's mine:

    1. A small (~ iphone 5s size), great sounding DAP with excellent battery life designed for IEMs. Modular option (like Fiio X7) for an amp to power cans.

    2. Closed, over ear headphones that are portable but good enough sounding and scalable upable with good gear to be used as a primary home HPs.

    3. A great flagship DD IEM.

    I like your #2.

I want DAP that runs modern versions of Android, with a competent processor, 2 sd cards slots, and no bugs with offline TIDAL which most have (ZX2 is only exception to my knowledge) for $1k. So basically any modern phone minus the cell chip, + better audio circuitry.

A passive XLR switch that doesn't cost $400.

Reasonably sized speakers that have the feeling/dynamics of huge speakers. Don't think it can happen though because physics.

A magic box or circuit that can take dynamically limited music files, determine what they would have been prior to limiting and restore them to an accurate dynamic state.

    (The title does say "wish".)

A warehouse filled with NOS tubes that aren't sold for $50+ a piece.

A converter to let my Vali 2 use the maximum dong tube for shits and giggles.

So like a DBX dynamic range expander, but somehow accurate to the source material?

Shelf modules that allow you to stack different sized Schiit components, like a Valhalla 2 over a Modi Multibit.

I may end up doing this once I get a salaried job though. Planning on doing a Gumbreya + Jot setup, will probably just butcher some Ikea desk stuff to do it.

Kinda, sorta. I always pictured the DBX dynamic range expander as a crude device that just reacted to the signal levels it received and dynamically adjusted the volume output according to it's design. Not really restoring dynamics but creating volume level shifts.

But something somehow accurate to the source material, yeah definitely.

An updated Bifrost Multibit that makes it clearly better than the Modi Multibit.

A LHLabs-Samsung joint venture smartphone (but only V3 since it seems to take 2 generations to work out the kinks) so I can have one device to rule them all.

Cups that are easily added to the HD650 to make them isolate but not change their sound.

I see you your lighter, more comfortable headband for the HD6xx and raise you a headband for the HD800 that clamps as tightly as the HD6xx.

Would you believe I have never heard the HD800? I'd imagine that fatigue would get worse with tighter clamping?

Hard to buy and prone to bursting into flames?

Amen to this- the 800 is comfy, and distributes pressure amazingly well, but is prone to slopping about when you move your head.

Weirdly, they're very gentle on the head.. they do need a bit more grip, as it goes.

A world with more well mastered/recorded bootlegs that are not kept away by the record companies because rights...

The more music I collect, the more I realise I want to listen to bootlegs and live recordings that really show off the musician's art/skill.

I would also like a magic box or circuit that would allow digital to have the sense of ease and the dimensional qualities that I experience with analog.

I would like a "super HD650" or an "HD650 successor" to actually be that...

A transparent PEQ that operates fully in the analog domain. Bass and treble shelf plus 2 PEQ filters would be fine.

I'd just be happy if Sansa would re-release the Fuze. No fiddly hi rez whatever, no crazy power whatever, no battery hogging class-A shenanigans. I want it to fit in my palm, have a simple UI and great scroll wheel, modest power, modestly good sound, a card slot, in the $50-80 price range, that's it.
