Could massdrop make a DAP? I bet they could make one better than Larry's with the key difference of actually making it.

That would work, LHLabs products can get decent mainstream exposure via MD, similar to what lots of mechkey enthusiasts/designers are doing.

 

Let them finish the flippin' Wave first!!! No more distractions for Larry please...

 

Oh, to be clear, I was not suggesting that massdrop partner with vaporware companies. I meant that Massdrop should do it themselves or work with competent sources. I'll say again that I bet they can make a better product, cheaper, and, again, actually make it.

Seeing the pic of the Source and the ViDac first thing pops up in my head is: man, the Source is huuuuge.
Hence what are the dimensions again?

Then i see the screen of the Source and I'm wondering if the UI software is finalized. Is it? And could you arrange of a video (or at least a couple of screenshots) how the Source will be controlled via a tablet/notebook?

Ok ... so dimensions haven't changed? Just asking since so much has changed in the past (as we were proven numerous times Larry has his own definition of "final" specs ;-))

Here is a quick summary:
4 years (yes) in!

1. Larry's previous attempts to find a chassis supplier have fallen through and Larry is wandering aimlessly about the continent looking for a new supplier, or, as he says "moving to a new factory". He is optimistic, though!

2. Larry does not have a screen supplier. He doesn't. What does he have? Optimism.

3. The GW software still isn't even close to done. There is no battery supplier. Seriously, no battery supplier. A positive mental attitude is free, so there's that.

 

The update contradicts this 100%. The new supplier has been found for the chassis. Pictures of the new supplier are included.

 

You had the same sort of pictures from the old supplier.

Why don't you explain what happened with the old supplier?

Why isn't the software done?
If it is waiting on something else, then why wasn't that other thing completed literally years ago?

 

The old supplier wasn't able to make the chassis properly for the Tube DAC. We stated this clearly in the last update. In the interest of posting updates, here is the last update:

Hey great, so let us know exactly how you know this new factory won't have the same issues.

 

When I have information either way on no issues vs issues, I'll let you know that information.

I'm not getting into this with you. Instead, you can maybe discuss with others our issues and pat yourself harder on the back over how hard you think I/LH suck.

If anyone else is curious about the software, they needed the hardware in order to optimize the power management for said hardware. See last hardware update:

Software was announced via direct email to be near completion in June 2017, with Beta release in mid July of last year...
