    @KenBall

    So, when are you putting out your own hyper-intense Andromeda video?

    You can tear off your shirt and yell*, or something!

    It'll be great. Arrrgh!

    As a person who lived in germany, i understand the weird german aesthetic. It would probably be better if the ad was in german with english subtitles.

    the motto for rittersport chocolate is so german too.

    Praktisch. Quadratisch. Gut.

    Sorry, cultural barriers don't work on this one. It's just a shitty advertisement

    Would be better if the dude descended into madness, took off his pants, took a shit, smeared shit over himself, and burned down the house while running in circles around a table with Sennheiser product. The last shot can utilize several versions promoting different products to make best use of the budget.

    My point was that a good concept transcends cultural barriers. Sennheiser just missed the ball.

    Man, I haven't seen a old man pour museli over himself while having a milkbath since college.

    I'm genuinely quite excited about this release. The first gen was remarkably different than any other DD IEM on the market, still is. If they improved the FR shape it could be a killer.

    Please do report back! The cable length, especially above the splitter, was the Achilles heel of the original.

    I got a repair pair of ie800s several months back and the cable was definitely longer than my original. Not too much, but it was nicer in my pocket. No longer almost ripping out of my ear. Unfortunately I don't have the pair anymore to measure the difference.

    Hopefully they learned their lesson.

    It is too bad about losing the large elliptical. that was my favourite too.

    Here is a thought/question: Since the IE800S also accepts Comply foamies, will it be the same proprietary locking mechanism on these tips as the IE800? I am thinking that they might be more ordinary and the earlier tips might not fit on them at all. (I wonder if the new tips will even have the metal grid?)

    @Kunlun, inquiring minds want to know! :)

    Checked it again; they actually removed both the elliptical ones, not just the large one. So it seems both of my favorite tips are now gone... I´d be very surprised if they changed the locking mechanism as they seem to look identical, but no way to know until people have actually tried them somewhere. I sure hope they change it; it was never that dependable, especially if you kept the IEMs in your pocket just like that like I usually do.

    By the way, Sennheiser ran some pretty awesome deals yesturday on their EU online stores. They gave out 10% off codes if you stayed a while on the shopping cart window and then returned. The funny thing? You could actually do this twice and both of the codes worked for a total 20% off. If you live in the UK there´s also a shopwide 15% off code that you could combine with the 10% off (but not two of them). At 20% or 25% off I would have bought the IE 800 S, but alas I managed to miss half of the deal (only got one code, didn´t know you could take two as others later reported). Checked the UK store too, codes worked fine on everything on their high end line, but you couldn´t select Finland from the shipping options there. Oh well...
