Jeez, I take a break to take care of some honey-do's, fall asleep in my chair, and when I wake up, insults have been flying, threats of physical violence arise, we find there is a double agent, it is revealed that most of us have some shit from our pasts, thanking of fathers, HF posts deleted in milliseconds, DigMe confronts the DA, JK47 gets banned from HF, another MDR-Z1R goes up for sale, and now Deep Funk needs a break. Oh yeah and in between people talked about headphones.

Oh, I'm confident that the Z1R was originally designed by a red priestess from Asshai, with some serious shit dark magic. Since Sony found the secret design and put it to mass production, the Z1R has become a danger to the whole wide world. Now anyone who puts these headphones on a measurement rig is cursed, and woe betide he (or she) who dares to put them on their head, or replies on the internets to someone who has. Sooner or later you will be bestowed with audiophile insults, threats of corn-based violence, be reminded of your fathers, have your posts deleted in high-frequency moderating by the high priests on HF, and for the (un)luckiest of 'em all get a taste of Jude's sledgehammer. Careful people, careful!

I was awake at 2:00 A.M. (don't ask). I just kept thinking, what's with the corn? Is it a Canadian form of insult? Do you shove the cobs into your opponents ears, impeding them from using headphones? Or is another body orifice involved? These are the things that keep me up at night. That and should I piss off my wife by buying a Yggdrasil or mildly pissing her off my upgrading my Gungnir to MB?

Well you did say we have influence. Except, we wouldn't do the double agent thing over there. At least I hope not. I'm just shocked that it got down to actual threats of violence over a headphone thread. I know people get upset when they spend a boatload of $$$ on something and then find out not every loves it. But, really there are so many other things in life of greater importance. Health, family etc. What ever happened to a little fun ribbing? Does everything have to be so serious?

I'm really disappointed to see the double standard of leaving alone negative comments about SBAF but deleting anything positive, even a link to a graph. That's exposing your hand a little bit.

 

I thought that Jude's idea was to try to keep SBAF a secret. If so, it seems to have changed to painting a picture of: Nothing of value at SBAF. It is just a mean, ugly place that Head-Fi members wouldn't want to visit.
