It's obvious that suits told him a big 'No' on his online activities. I don't expect him to come here again.

Still here. No meet up yet because: on the other forum they told us this was not allowed to post in the thread.

And between both here and the other forum, the response I received was less than 10 people.

We are going to be at RMAF. I have approved the budget and will be in attendance.

I report to the CEO with no layers of management in between. We simply did not get much response to a listening session, otherwise we would have had one.

I am completely willing to meet in NY or Philly. With my travel schedule it's hard to commit to anywhere outside of a few hour commute.

    Wow Man!

How many companies share as much as we have through this whole process. You simply cannot please everyone

Similarly, you probably shouldn't react to everything <_<

These are kind of interesting, and I do like the RP-160M bookshelves...

SBAF gets a lot less traffic compared to head-fi, but we do have a few people willing to go out for a meet. It would definitely help if we have a more concrete date, but this will definitely be a small meet.

Very cool. I do like the mechanical look of what you are brewing. They are reminiscent of the Klipsch heritage line in terms of appearance. Still what matters more is the sound. There are no perfect transducers. None are entirely flat, colorless, and that is fine. Can you give us a description of what type of sound you are going for with these? I know descriptions likes these are bound to be subjective, but still if you have a goal, would appreciate hearing more what that goal is (realizable or not).

Quite a few actually. IMHO you missed some opportunities but hey ho.

I hope you guys nail the tuning. A Biocell driver with a smooth treble would be something many would love. Pleasing many on headfi is easy, more experienced ears, not so much.

Hey Steve. It is hard to please everyone nor do I think you should try.

This site is very involved in product development with certain companies like Schiit and Massdrop who often send Admins top secret prototypes months before those products are even announced to the public. Sometimes Marv and company have heard something a year before the rest of us learn about it. That obviously is pretty rare in this hobby and sure, some members have come to appreciate that level of involvement and get frustrated when other companies hold their prototypes closer to their chest. We are a small community but the products that @Marvey and the other admins have helped to develop have been extremely well received. I would still encourage you to send a copy of the headphones out to California for feedback but if you want to be present for the demo, I know we can get a few guys closer to your HQ who can give them a listen.

Also, please continue to update this thread. We won't force you to pay for ad space in order to have the privilege of posting updates. Sorry Headfi is trying to shake you down. That's how they roll.

I'll tell you what I would want (and would pay for) from this new bio-cellulose phone. The tonality of the HD650 with better bass extension. The ZMF Eikon is a good example of someone nailing that target. But it's too heavy.

Heck if you guys at Klipsch can make a HD650 with more sub-bass, you won't even need to worry about pleasing a damn person because everybody will be buying it anyways.

..and too resonant, and possibly too rolled off in the highs. It's a nice piece of work, mind.

Actually, a good number of *very* successful ones do - a not insignificant percentage of which have tuned their final products with key members of this community. Some of those have even hit various "Top" or "Fame" rankings with multi-year runs.

But, hey, it's your prerogative to react like this when folks call you out on not following through. Personally? I was willing to fly, offer up a semi-refined ear, compare against your competitors, and offer feedback that could be useful for your final tuning of a product with revenues that could cover your salary for a few years.

Now? I think I'll spend the money on ETFs, my time on resume line-items for myself, and call it a day. Good luck with your headphones, sir.

The cups are less open then I thought they would be. Not sure how I feel about that. I suspect that these will sound mostly closed but who knows.

    Update from the headfi thread:

Steve: "We just got 4 BETA samples in Monday, we should have 30 more coming next week, believe it or not, there is a typhoon in Asia and our samples were delayed.

Once we have these BETA, vlad and I will be sending them to members of this forum and another HP forum."

He's talking about Headcase.org right? Hoping we can drag Marv out of his self imposed banishment for a review.

@TheIceman93. If I am not mistaken, there are different versions. Open, semi closed, closed. Which one is that pic of?

That's a picture of the HP3 Flagship ... 50mm bio driver with semi-open cups. They have said almost nothing about the other two lower models. I know the drivers are 40mm and one is semi open like the flagship and the other is a closed wireless model. I don't believe there is a fully open model.

Just a note, the above exploded image is a render, not at all to scale yet.

If you look on the other forum, you can see a pic I posted a few days ago of the actual wood housing being sanded and you will see the size of the open holes.

If I could figure out how to add pics now that Photobucket is worthless, I would add the pic, maybe someone here can add the pic?

All you need to do is open the image in its own tab on Headfi, copy the URL and paste that address into the text of the post using the small box with the mountain and sun in the formatting bar.

Edit: I assume this is the picture you wanted. The vent holes do look bigger than they do in the exploded view.

Just to back up what some people in the Headfi thread are saying, I think the vast majority of owners would prefer to have an an alternate set of pads included, preferably a velour or hybrid, maybe vented leather. The ablity to tune the sound is definitely more desirable than having a headphone stand. I know a 4 pin balanced cable is in the works and it would be awesome if it was included. Skip the fancy box, have an alternate pad and include the 4 pin.
