    Polaris arrived today. Dummy FedEx dood left it on the edge of the front porch to get rain on, instead of setting up against the house. The box was damp but everything inside was dry, so all is good. Not bad, a little less bass than Dorado, Vega and Lyra if I recall correctly. Still bassier than what I like but not bad. Treble is tame and easy to get along with so far.

    @shotgunshane
    I am curious whether the Polaris will make your "recommended" list.
    I love mine. However, I have too little experience and knowledge to pass judgment.

    It’s not going on the list directly, but will be listed as others worth considering for Campfire Audio.

    Received the Polaris yesterday evening, I don't have much experience with dynamic drivers since they seem to be heavily V-shaped, these aren't too bad in that regard.

    Still trying different tips but the driver flex is noticeable on each insert but @KenBall said it's not something to worry about.

    any more impressions on the polaris? personally, as much as i acknowledge the tuning prowress of Ken Ball & co, i personally found them pretty objectionable when reproducing male vocals esp those near baritone like nick cave or leonard cohen... to me there is an objectionable "telephonic" quality to those voices, i wanted to like them but to me polaris (and nova) is a disappointment.

    and this is coming from someone who usually do not mind "characterful" tuning like ex1000 or ocharaku...

    Polaris has landed. I'll be listening tonight and making comparisons between the Vega and this.
