    I wrote this elsewhere but will expand on MCTH vs sun-burned Jot:
    • MCTH was leaner and lacked body. Combination of less sub-bass and less lower mids.
    • Mid and upper bass warmth where about equal.
    • Jot was slightly glarey are hard. MCTH was more so.
    • MCTH was sharper in upper highs. Jot was smoother.

    I also believe the Magni 3 is small and lighter (Size: 5 x 3.5 x 1.25”, Weight: 1 lb) than the MCTH (8.3 x 9.1 x 2.2 in, 3.6lbs), which is lighter than the Jot, but not necessarily smaller (Size: 9” x 6” x 2”, 6 lbs).

    The Magni and Jot are also is solid state amps, and the MCTH is a tube hybrid.

    They are also different colors. The Magni and Jot are brighter, and the MCTH is darker. With the right tube, that probably can describe their signatures too.

    @techboy I don't think anybody has done a direct comparison between all three. @Marvey posted some impressions of the MCTH versus his sun baked Jot in the post directly above yours and elsewhere. MCTH isn't out until February 2018 so there will only be a limited number of opinions to read. There seems to be a lot of positive talk about the new Magni 3 in comparison to the Jot. @Marvey also wrote a three-way comparison of Vali 2 vs Project Horizon vs MCTH on his blog, which is well worth a read.

    I recommend that you read through the MCTH and Magni 3 threads, they are not too long. The Jot thread is quite long though, best to use the search option for that thread.

    I've owned the Jot with the Modi Multibit and HD650, it is good match-up. I found the Jot too bright with the Gungnir Multibit for my tastes. I think the Magni 3 is a bit of a no-brainer to try at only $99 to be honest. Especially, since MCTH is not out for ages (and assuming you ordered it before the drop finished!).

    Magni 3 is actually warmer and darker than the Jot. It doesn't have the steely/shouty sound the Magni 2u had.

    Great to know. I head a lot of Modi Multibit and finally scored one and it is on its way. Jot would be great but I personally go with Magni 3 since Modi Multibit & Magni would be perfect size matching each other like identical twins in terms size wise :)
