I've read the entire review, now I know less about Jade than before reading it.

 

Heh. I was reading a 6moons review (don't ask me why) last night and, to my surprise, the reviewer was actually succinct and critical! I, too, almost crapped my pants!

 

Why ?

 

Working on ordering an Onyx through Zach at ZMF (he's a Metrum dealer in addition to being the awesome guy we all know he is). I've owned a Pavane for most of this year and just sold it a few days ago in an effort to downsize despite loving it. I won't be able to do any direct comparisons since the Pavane is no longer in my possession, but it'll be interesting to compare. I was tempted to grab the Jade and go full-digital but losing analog inputs would render my vinyl setup useless and I can't quite bear that.

Incidentally, 6moons consistently causes my shitty work laptop to crash Chrome. That site badly needs a redesign.

 

Btw, just heard from Zach that the Onyx and Jade are backordered by 4-8 weeks, which is a bit of a bummer. I went ahead and put my order in regardless, but I'm happy to see that such a small company is getting such great demand. I don't know if any of you have ever sent a question in to their company email address, but Cees himself has responded directly and quickly to all my inquiries. Pretty great customer service.

That's odd. Works for me every time, on the contrary to some other content filled sites. But yeah, he could make it more XXI century.

 

Direct from Cees on the backlog of orders. Sounds like they're waiting on the housings:

"Due to many orders we ordered both Amethyst and Jade / Onyx housings. We were asking for Jade /Onyx first but our manufacturer of the housings did the opposite. Therefore we cannot deliver our second batch earlier than mid of December."

 

Props to him for informing people about what's going on.

 

Yup, and all it took was an email to him. Nice that he's being that transparent. One of the best things about these smaller boutique companies.

 

Yup, they usually aren't subject to thick wall of procedures big corporations are known for and can get personal with a customer. There's no downside to this approach.

And it looks that its being supported without compromising the nos idea, and i like that a lot, giving me as a client the freedom to chose

 

ps checked in at Metrum today, and despite Cees his previous message, shipment starts in two weeks from now, so this is great news! Pretty sure i will have my onyx first week of december at the latest!
