I recently bought my new headphones. The Sennheiser Hd800 S. Been listening for a few weeks now, with schiit bifrost multibit and asgard 2.
Though these headphones are pricey, they do sound amazing . The presentation and craftsmanship is second to none!
They just do everything better than my AKG Q701, the HD800 S sound like I'm "in" the music as opposed to the AKG's where they sounded like I was listening to music. The sound stage of the Sennheiser is a bit larger, clarity and instrument separation is better. I am extremely happy with these headphones I do not regret spending the money one bit!

I wonder how much better these will sound if I go with the Schiit Audio Gungnir Multibit and Mjolnir 2?

As a HD800S user with a Gungnir Multibit/Mjow stack, the combo is stunning. Some tubes can change the character pretty strongly.

I flip between the bassier miniwatt and airier and more detailed Amperex PQ USA 7308. The latter requires a bit of a bass boost in EQ but I don't notice and distortion.

I think about getting rid of the xombo
