I don't know how many of you guys have heard the DACport Slim, but it sounds pretty damn good. Definitely G quality, and possibly better than the GO450 as a dac/amp with the UERMs.

The Slim was just a Massdrop edition of the Dacport HD correct? How much did the slim sell for?

How does it compare to the Leckerton? I'll bring my Fulla to the NYC meet so we can compare (or I'd be happy to lend it if I can't make it out).

I think it was $99 USD when it dropped. Based on the centrance website the Slim can't handle as many sample rates (or DSD) compared to the Dacport HD, but looks like they're both using an AKM4490 chip.

Yup, $99. The slim seems to have less output power as well, which is totally fine for CIEMs.

By memory, the fulla isn't as good sounding due to its warm nature. The GO 450 was definitely better than the fulla and trades blows with the dacport slim. It's more open sounding but at the cost of sounding a bit thin and bright sometimes. The dacport slim brings the mids a bit more foward, and has a tad bit of warmth. That was just a brief comparison though.

@Dr. Higgs the Leck used as both an amp/dac? I can tell you right away that the dac section of the leck is terrible compared to the GO 450 or dacport slim.

The Fulla is actually on the thinner, lean and energetic side of the spectrum for me. I guess I haven't heard the GO450, so if that's even thinner, yikes lol.

Hmm really? What headphones were you using them with? I guess that also depends on your reference amp/dac as well.

Im not sure why everyone says the Fulla is warm. I had the same experience. To me, Fulla is not warm - too lean and a touch bright, but with decent resolving power for what it is. This based on comparison with Bifrost Multibit, Modi 2, Dragonfly 1.2, and Fiio e07k.

Dragonfly had a better overall tonality (warmer) but with worse digital harshness and/or glare up top. The Dragonfly's weird hash up top is a bummer. Modi 2 is just plain better in every way. Modi 2 is a touch lean, but much less lean than Fulla, less treble glare, much more well rounded. Fiio e07k is indeed warm. It sounds more pleasant than either Dragonfly or Fulla, but also seems a little muddy or poorer in resolving.

    I didn't like Fulla. I don't like the Dragonfly anymore either. I haven't found a dac stick I like.

I was comparing it with my laptop's headphone out with a VSonic GR01. Was debating whether it was worth keeping the Fulla for portable use. Honestly the Fulla wasn't much different than the headphone out from my Asus UX31A, a tad more energetic and resolving, but also a tad thin and bright (though it did have more power and volume if that's what you need). Ultimately decided it wasn't worth it and sold it. My reference DAC is my Yggdrasil, but in my comparison it was going head to head with my laptop.

I agree with lm4der and his impression of the Fulla and Modi 2. I've also had a hard time finding a good DAC stick, though I haven't tried the GO2+ Infinity, which sounds promising.

GOV2! I went through a number of DAC sticks before this one finally ended the journey. If you don't want to spend that much, a GO450 should be able to be found for less than $100 now. It is still quite good.

so what exactly holds Bifrost Multibit down from being rated as VG?

Missing a Lyr 2 in the list. I think it would belong in the G/VG group.

Curious how a Bryston BHA1 would fare, only with HD6X0 and modded HD800?
