Don't you guys know that there's no engine noise in first class? That picture makes perfect sense to me.

It's a dreadful case of "shit arm, bad tattoo", for sure.

Would be interested in further comparisons between these and the stock HD650's. I bought a pair of HD600's over Christmas and would like to compare them to the tried and tested 650's to see where my preference lies in terms of sound signature.

The HD6XX is for all intents and purposes an HD650 with a different finish and shorter cable. And a lower price tag.

I have both a stock HD650 cable that has been re-terminated into balanced XLR and a HD6XX cable.

Other than the length and the end connector I can state they are exactly the same. I honestly don't know how you can say other wise.

This is bugging me. One of the songs on the Cambridge Audio test tracks playlist is Cee Lo's Bright Lights Bigger City. When the kick drum comes in it is distorted on my 6XX from PC to Modi Multibit to Vali 2. Can someone else listen to this track on Apple Music or Spotify (I've tried both) and see if you experience the same through 6XX or 650? This is not a song I'd ever listen to for pleasure but it's making me wonder if something's wrong in my chain or with my drivers or something. It seems to be the worst from :17 until about :40. Thanks.

Nothing's wrong, except the song sucks and is crappily mastered. (Chain: Tidal --> Oppo BDP-103D --> coax --> Yggdrasil --> RCA --> T3 --> HD600)

@KlannerScum , @Luckbad sold a pair of amaranth (?) from Kennerton and posted that it did not change the tone, but needed damping. BTW are you a Klansmen with shitty self-esteem living in the Philippines? Just curious

    Lol.

I'll leave it to your imagination. ;)

That, or read some Battletech novels during the Clan Invasion.

My self-esteem is pretty healthy, if you must know.

Though I really want info on those cups.

@KlannerScum , I used the search function to find the answer to your question. I was surprised with @Luckbad' s answer, as the soundstage is one of the HD650's strengths. I think it if the cups were a worthwhile mod, I would suspect more posts about it here as the HD650 is a favorite here. But I could be wrong.

Those Kennerton cups are really pretty. They're also very heavy, suck the soundstage in a bit, and cause lots of wonky reflections you need to damp away.

That said, they did less to the overall sound signature than I expected. I had the Amaranth cups.

Different wood types will impact the sound differently.

The biggest reason I don't have them anymore was the weight. I also had great closed cans at the time and didn't have a need to close the 650s.

Really? Thats insane. The HD650 is available on Amazon and B&H for $315 right now. I wanted to jump on this drop but its not worth waiting 6 months to save $75.

Sucks for US buyers if they missed the first drop, as it costs $50 more for them. For what it's worth, I got my HD 650s for less than $250 retail.

International buyers rejoice...? I have no idea if the free international shipping is worth the +$50. Anyone know whether or not customs are included?
