It is the new reissue. Sounds pretty awesome.

I would send it your way but it might be cheaper just to get it from amazon yourself. I am not sure my shipping costs across the country would necessarily make it worth it. Plus a second copy of a decent mastering isn't a bad thing!

Fair enough! I already have the MFSL on Ziggy but I do want to hear this new mastering.

This past month I have bought a large handful of records via Discogs, I haven't used it to buy much vinyl but:

-It seems common for sellers to take forever to reply to messages and ship your records, most don't even post tracking numbers. That's the worst of it; basically you gotta be patient. Some are like this but not necessarily all.

-I try to go for VG+ and for sellers who spell out how the record plays rather than generic descriptions, has worked out pretty well so far. One record I received was VG+ and it definitely has a ton of surface marks including at least one real scratch but at least it plays OK; for a $11 +4 ship record I didn't complain.
-As for price sometimes you'll find bargains from retailers, gohastings and ccmusic both list on Discogs and seem cheaper than their respective websites.
-I have found most discogs sellers are competent in shipping; records outside of the jacket, new paper sleeves, outer liners over the jacket, extra cardboard layer used with the mailer.
-Very rare records are inflated like crazy on Discogs so ebay is a better bet.
-If you are after a particular pressing it may be worth it to ask the seller beforehand or as you are "checking out" to confirm. This has worked out pretty well for me.

I had one seller that I haggled a few bucks on let me know he actually lives about 2 hours from me and we had a great discussion, that was pretty cool.

I have about 300 1970-1990 albums to sell. What is the best way to individually pack adequately for protection and yet still not require some expensive specialized packing materials? I plan to sell on ebay and will probably use the Goldmine visual rating system and not be the highest priced guy selling. Hoping that I can move them on eBay over time. Or should I become a discogs member?

Do people buy lots, as in 4 Bowie albums at once.? I think the shipping would be lots cheaper this way?

@bixby If you want to offer them here first, I know I'd be interested in some of the titles. We recently had a thread like that where we were buying used vinyl from another member.

I don't have a good answer for you but I personally dislike the uline style mailers because they tend to bend easily. You also need added cardboard layers to brace the front and or back of the record as well to minimize risk of corner dings and bends.

This may not matter for cheaper records but it's frustrating to see your more expensive records get damaged in the mail and then have the buyer also upset with you!

jk47 turned me on to Discogs - the limitless sea of records and a way to digitally keep track of what records I own.

Its a really really cool site, the more I dig in the more I like it. It can be used as an online thrift shop where they have thousands of cheap used records ($5 and under), lots of new sealed records in the $5-$15 range, and hard to find rare out of print. Kind of like Abe books from a buyer / seller relationship. If you are looking for a certain release you can add it to a watch list and they will ping you when one pops up.

Recently bought 3 records (2 new) for $35 inc shipping from a seller with thousands of transactions and a almost perfect feedback.

Soundohm and Boomkat are good sources from Italy and UK respectively. Both offer a good selection of limited pressing re-releases of limited release originals in vinyl such as Nurse with Wound and Zoviet France among many others. I can only speak of Soundohm from direct interaction. Both offer international shipping.

I've purchased a fair number of discs from Soundohm. They specialize in minimalist/ambient, jazz, electronic, experimental, noise, etc. Items such as Ennio Morricone's "Sonare" 10lp box set to Charlie Parker's "Celebrating Bird at 100" CDs. It is worth a look if you are into hard to find obscure music. Bandcamp is the first place to look as some artists can be found there, Soundohm after.
Soundohm offers a subscription which entitles you to free shipping and a modest discount. Shipments are usually once a month via UPS 2 day. Packages are double boxed. Customer service is quick and responsive.

I really really hate ordering Amazon.US
The warehouses closest to me, in New England, these people just couldn't care any less. Very very rarely do I bother trying to order LPs and when I do, it is because of a price I couldn't refuse and 1 out of 3 times I will return it due to either shipping damage or vinyl defects.

Almost every order I've placed from Amazon.Eu
(Which is far and few between) EU maiden reissues EU Floyd remasters. Have been awesome. Amazing packing, awesome pressings. Only time I had a single issue was defect from Maiden's Brand New World, and something bizarre happened (likely once it got into the States) ripped plastic, corners crushed, seams split, records bent out of flat. Very saddening.

Other places mentioned already like Barnes & Nobles and Best Buy are hit and miss. Yeah the packaging is pretty poor. thin weak cardboard, usually end up with bends and some dented corners, but usually for me the vinyl comes out unscathed and it's just jacket imperfections. It's really worth it and nice if you can hit on great sale prices.

Now honestly, I really don't order vinyl online regularly. I have bought far more albums either at Newbury comics, or Bullmoose. But the one place I don't have a single bad thing to say about, and I have been lucky enough to have every order (more than 6, less than 10) all successful with no issue before.
    ....drumroll please.

    Deep Discount.
In MYYYYY experience, They package their records the super great, like everytime. Always arrives in perfect shape, and fast shipping too. Have never had to return/replace/complain. And they have sales just like everyone else. They just have always left me a satisfied customer.

    Alright bye.
