Pontus and Ares are with Bob now.
Can't wait to read some reviews from this tour. Both are considerations in my chain and look like great alternatives to the standard fare.
Taken using my antique Canon EOS, sorry, my photo taking skill is poor.
Both Pontus and Ares are now at the 70 hr mark for burn-in. @alvin1118 has requested that they receive 200 Hrs burn-in before measurements. Subsequent power on cycles should only need 24 hr warm-up according to Alvin. Both units are receiving AES/EBU or SPDIF from a Dante receiver at 44.1 KHz with music from the entire library playing during the burn-in process.
Appreciate you taking one for the team on this part!
It'll be nice to able to plug-in, fiddle a bit, and get to proper listening within a day or so.
For a variety of reasons, I'm actually looking forward to hearing these two units (which, after the Audio-GD S19 debacle, I wasn't sure was going to happen again outside the realms of better-known, higher-priced, units). So much so that, even if my Hugo 2 arrives at the same time*, I'm going to give priority to the Denafrips units both for listening and for getting them written up.
*Based on what I'm told, it should. Though based on what I was told I should have had it at the end of the week before last. And what I was told before that would have put it in my hands in April (to be fair, they didn't say which April). So this probably won't happen.
200 hr mark will be 20170716-0140 GMT. Then I need to find two contiguous 8 hr periods for measurements which may be a bit challenging with a number of corporate system measurements competing during that time frame, and a couple of AES commitments to attend.
Pontus and Ares passed 200hrs mark ?
Yes, now at 215 hrs. My social director informed me I have two events to attend today, so it will be Monday or Tuesday before I begin, depending on corporate calendar.
Great! I'm so excited !
Yo, @sphinxvc I put my name up there in an early post but don't see my name on the list...
Not sure how I missed you, sorry; added.
Separate names with a comma.
