@BrettMatthews - Thanks for the heads-up on the pump failure issue! After much debate, I ended up using Asus AI software, instead of Corsair's link, for 5 way optimization, including fan control. This means the fans on the rad are plugged straight into cpu_fan and cpu_opt on the board (instead of into the pump), and they speed up/slow down based on cpu temps rather than rad temps. Should keep me nicely protected because the fans will go from silent to super loud if the pump fails and temps get out of control.

The machine was perfectly stable at 4.6ghz, but it seemed to make no difference in the games I play (all maxed thanks to the 1070 at 1440p), so I ultimately opted for a more conservative 4.3ghz OC, with my memory running at 3200, and whisper mode for the fans. So far so good!

Nothing fancy. I built this last Spring and couldn't be happier - perfect for music replay and general photo/file management for the family.

    i3-4370
    Gigabyte Z97-HD3
    Crucial Ballistix 4G
    EVGA Supernova 550 G2
SanDisk 240G x2, 480G x1 SSD, and an old lonely Seagate 250G HDD for rando OSs I want to play around with
repurposed something or other DVD drive from a 9 yr old Dell
Fractal Designs Define 5 sitting on some fancy ass patio blocks that match my carpet
    Mechanical Keyboards Disco (Ducky OEM)
    shitty Logitech mouse

Running Ubuntu, Xubuntu, and Hackintosh El Capitan. Music/FLAC files on a dedicated SSD, running DeadBeef on low-latency Xubuntu and Ubuntu 14.04 on another SSD with PulseAudio disabled, and the Hackintosh on the 3rd SSD with Clover as boot loader. I have another 4G Crucial RAM but isolated it as a problem with a hanging BIOS that wouldn't boot to an OS after numerous connecting/reconnecting SSDs to MOBO for OS installs. I haven't been arsed to attempt a reinstall of the card since the 'puter is blazing quick for my needs.

I'm ordering a Ducky mouse and leather wrist rest. I love the Disco keyboard.

    Pros:
    Decent overclocks
    Adequate cooling
    Slick looks
    Decent performance for 1440p

    Cons:
Bit too bulky by my standards
Can't beat the top air coolers in the noise department

Will be dismantled pretty soon once Jonsbo VR2 chassis is available in EU. Back to air cooling!

Have you considered waiting for the Kimera Cerberus? Jonsbo cases haven't had a good track record for cooling.

I've been waiting on the Cerberus for over a year though (have a brand new X99M-WS just for moving from mITX that's collecting dust).

Sure, I even took part in the Cerberus Kickstart which failed. Not gonna play the waiting game again.

Not all Jonsbo/Cooltek cases lack cooling performance, for example W2 has solid ventilation and thermal performance.
VR2 is pretty much Silverstone FT05 in smaller package with better cable management and looks. Inverted layout should contribute to decent cooling performance - at least in theory. Part of the fun is testing and tinkering by yourself. Will post impressions once I get my hands on the VR2.

Just picked up a 750 series SSD, can't use it to boot until I get an NVMe compatible motherboard though..

Also noticed Fractal released a Define Mini C that I want, not even long after buying the Define S.

Installed some Noctua case fans in the PC and upgraded the gpu to an Asus GTX 1070 Strix OC.

Smart design. I now realised I should change my case airflow a bit.

Upgraded my GPU and PSU recently. MSI GTX 1060 6GB 6GT and Seasonic 520 M12II EVO Bronze. Cable management definitely looks better now.

GTX1060 is super awesome for 1080p.

Yup, i already hacked my GPU cooler little bit... Running GPU fans from MOBO fan controller, using SpeedFan to get fans to 15% at idle. Meaning custom temperature/fan curve using GPU temp sensor. SpeedFan lets you use case fans with GPU t sensor, which is also useful. With stock 6GT GPU you can tune fans to only 30%-40% at idle, too much ambient noise for me. A little work, but everything is automated, cool and silent!

    Updated specs.

    Processor: Intel 3570k OC 4.2GHz

Built my current PC back on early January 2011 as an Xmas present for myself.

    The original configuration was:

    Case: Silverstone FT-02WRI Limited Ed.
    Processor: i7 930 (OC dynamically to 4.0Ghz)
    Heatsink: Noctua NH D-14
    Board: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Rev. 2
    Ram: 12Gb (6x2Gb) Kingston Hyper-X 1600Mhz XMP
    Video: 2 x Gigabyte GV-N480SO-15I GTX480 SOC
    2 x OCZ Vertex 2 50Gb SSD Sata II (In Raid 0) - System
1Tb Western Digital WD1002FAEX Sata III - Data
    Bluray Writer: Pioneer BDR-205
    Wifi: Asus PCE-N13
Psu: Nesteq XS-1000 1000w PSU Gold (one of the earliest Gold rated PSU at that time)
    Monitor: Dell U2410
    Keyboard: SteelSeries 7G
    Mouse: Razer Mamba
    Speaker: BlueSky EXO 2.1
    OS: Windows 3.1c (Joking....)

6 years on the running, things replaced were the two 50gb SSD for a 120gb PCIe Revodrive 3, the 1Tb WD HD for a 4GB WD Red Pro HD, and added a Lamptron FC Touch Fan Controller.

Noctua D14, added another 140mm fan at the exhaust. Baddest out there at that time. Now second after D15.

Need it to go 4.0-4.2Ghz (from 2.8Ghz stock) without going water.

After 6 yrs, still running at 4.0Ghz.

My current 'setup'. Pardon the potato phone quality. Went for all the cozy tube colours on my glowy glowy stuff.

Been 'building' computers for close to a decade now, started tinkering with electronics when I was in second grade, did my first full desktop rig by myself when I was in grade.. 9 or 10. Still have the motherboard serial ingrained in my memory; M4A78T-E. It's been lots of fun as I've been able to afford fancier toys and rigs as I've gotten older and whatnot.

My latest desktop (before I sold it due to moving cities) was a 4690k, Radeon 290x's, some 200gb of SSD's, and 16 gigs of white LED RAM. Was going for a very clean and organized approach with it, sleek. Most pictures I have of it are before I put a liquid cooler in for the CPU to get rid of the... brick, but the first one has it in. I'm big on cable management, and on getting my friends into it when I help them build their rigs. Apologies for the turtle beaches in the last photo, this was before I popped my hifi cherry with the 598's!
