Somewhat sad. There are a lot of nerds around here pursuing Quality.

As with other manifestations of Quality, an audiophile will find it challenging to define Quality in empirical terms because it is a kind of perceptual experience that precedes all academic description, but an audiophile knows Quality when he or she experiences it.

RIP. A very interesting book and a very interesting life. He probably managed to fill it with "quality" despite tragic events that can leave many utterly defeated.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance was given to us as summer reading before my senior year of high school.

It was quite a shock to go pick up your high school summer reading and have the store clerk point you to the eastern philosophy section. :p

Wow, sorry to hear this. That book (and later 'Lila') was eye opening for me back in the day. Pushed me into a lot of college courses I otherwise would never have considered.

RIP. I read Zen many years ago thinking it was going to be about motorcycles. He lost his only son tragically as did I. Both of our sons were named Christopher. Not the kind of fraternity that anyone wants to belong to.
