I have a mint condition Valhalla 2 for sale, includes original box, tubes, and manual. I can also add a whole new set of 4 tubes (never been used) for $15 extra (Valhalla tube set is $40)

So incredibly tempting. I've been wanting a Valhalla 2 to A/B with my Jot.

I can't believe this hasn't sold yet. This amp delivers the details and soundstage. Below 300 bucks, it's a no brainer.

 

@Marvey - no one has bought it yet, I would be happy to sell it to SBAF for a permanent loaner. @Skyline is interested but not sure if he can afford it right now. But if SBAF purchases it, he can at least get it on loaner.

 

Would LOVE to get this on loaner for a bit if that all works out.

I wonder how the Valhalla compares to the Vali 2 with the Elears.

Have you tried it with your 700s? How'd that combo fare compared to some other setups you've tried with the 700s?

 

I think it sounds wonderful with HD700. Of course that is my opinion. But the Valhalla 2 as you probably know provides plenty of power to drive higher Ohm headphones. Keep in mind the Valhalla 2 is not your typical tube amp. Yes, it does add a little warm, but it is an extremely clear sounding amp. One of the best amps in that price range I have ever heard. Only reason I am selling is because I upgraded my amp.

I cannot say for sure how the Valhalla 2 compares with the Elears, , however the Valhalla 2 does have high and low gain modes depending on the Ohm rating on the headphones/IEM's one is using.

 

Yeah, the low impedance of the Elears (80) relative to the Valhalla 2 is pretty much the only thing stopping me from buying them right now. It's technically within the 8x recommended multiple range, but its a bit too narrow for me to gap.

Hope you can find a buyer here! The price is really fair for what you could probably sell it for elsewhere. I may have a friend who's interested, but don't wait up on that (since they've flaked out on buying stuff from me before).

 

Well I am no expert in the Focal Elears, but at 80 Ohms, the Valhalla 2 may sound great with them on low gain mode. Like I said I am no expert on the Elears, but with the high and low gain switches on the Valhalla 2 they may sound wonderful (this is speculation on my part, as I have not heard the Focal Elears).

But in the end, you need to do what sounds good for you. I appreciate you writing a post in the thread. If something comes up and you change your mind and I still have it available, just PM me. Other members may have experience with the Elears and Valhalla 2 that could give you a better take on how well they work together.
