    Hi! You are giving these photos way too much credit. They are not "stylized." They are generic product shots which could benefit from better framing. At that size in the frame, you get a general overview of the products at best. If the purpose was to highlight differences between the models, shooting them from that distance is the opposite of what you should be doing. You need to push the camera closer and take some decently lit detail views that highlight/emphasize specifics like the shape of the pads, etc. f'ing with the exposure on a shot from 6 feet away is the path to the dark side.

    Related note: among SBAFs it's ok to be critical of something without reflexively having to "applaud the effort."

    Fair enough - my photography knowledge is obviously quite limited, but I still don't see them as that horrible/unworthy of posting.

    That being said, the fact this thread currently resolves around things like this just shows how little information there is on the actual thread topic at the moment. I'm out - I'll be back when I actually have the HD 660 S at home to compare with my HD 600. When they are finally available in retail I'm sure this thread (or the new one for them; I'd prefer that) will be a great resource.

    This is bullshit. You don't need to have knowledge of photography to realize that they kind of suck. Someone looking at the photographs shouldn't have to work so hard to get what they need. The essence of product photography is communication.

    What does all my shit flinging have to do with audio? It has everything to do with audio.

    Yeah... These will teach us all that headphones with a different FR sound different.
    I'm excited to learn this one.

    By the way, it's curious how little people understand how FR plots actually work. It almost seems like you can place HD660S graph 3dB louder than HD650's graph and plenty of people will say 'hey look it's improved in every possible way: more bass, more mids, more treble.'
    With that in mind, Jude's comparative plot is finely matched ; )

    I hate when things are simplified to a point where they almost lose their meaning so lazy people can create an ilusion of understanding.
    I think the 'next-gen' FR comparative tool should let you play free with the volume axis. (Not sure if Tyll is already working on that front)

    I am going to make some super speculative predictions on the HD660S, just for shits-and-giggles. After lunch. The gist of it is that the HD660S will be better than the HD650, but not necessarily better than the HD650M or HD650K mods discussed here. It all depends upon your point of view.

    We should create a poll. My guess is "When appropriately amped, choose the HD650. Unamped or portable amp, choose the HD660. Unless you already prefer the HD600, in which case you should do nothing."
