Prefer your MG6pro to your Andromedas?

Very much so. I might do a quick head-to-head sometime soon since the MG6pro is exotic and hard to find, and demo-less.

I liked the Andromedas out of the WM1A but not particularly out of my iPhone or laptop. I actually used to have dynamic driver IEMS and loved the texture but couldn't find any that could balance texture and low end response with air and correct treble timbre. Love the treble of Etys but they're a bit shrill for me. Thought the Noble K10 (originals) were too warm and fuzzy.

W900s sound like a good option but way out of my price range. Im looking for IEMs to be used with my iPhone and Nintendo switch primarily.

Perhaps the Hidition ciems might be an option. I haven't heard them yet (on an audition tour at HF; my spot is still a few weeks out) but from the descriptions I've read, the NT6Pro might be an SQ fit. However they are pretty expensive. Another option would be Jerry Harvey Audio's JH13. The cables bass dial would let you adjust bass to your preference and treble should decent air.

Otherwise I can't think of any other customs that might fit the bill at the moment. Regarding universals, AKG K3003 and Tralucent 1+2 would be workth checking out.

If you're really invested in the DD bass timbre then the UM Martian, Merlin or even AAW's W500 may satisfy.

Sorry to crosspost. I'm hoping for some IEM advice.
    http://www.superbestaudiofriends.or...purpose-advice-thread.19/page-233#post-146751

A couple of details I forgot to mention, I listen to various kinds of music: metal, electronic, folk, jazz, indie.... I'd like something fairly neutral, but I do love bass speed and slam. Still, my priorities are comfort and decent isolation.
I could also go higher than $300, but was hoping to start there due to my lack of experience with IEMs. I could later graduate to something better. Thanks in advance!

I would probably not recommend in the Noble X in your case. Fit can be a little iffy (they tend to back out of some people's ears) and they sound best at louder volumes.

I'd recommend the Audio Technica ATH-IM02. It is also a dual BA and can be bad under $200 now that it's been replaced in the lineup with the ATH-LS200. It's a slight V shaped take on a neutralish sig. This will mean it will br more suited to lower volume listening. You'll also find it to probably sounds a little more neutral at lower volumes. I haven't heard the replacement LS200 but based on ears I trust, it is even more neutrally tuned. But it's a good bit more expensive at the moment. Here is an Amazon link to the IM02: Audio Technica ATH-IM02 SonicPro Balanced In-Ear Monitor Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FWGU0ES/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AkMvzbSZBQCWK

Due to Fitear's BS policy, (you are only permitted to buy each fitear model only once - aside from the ALO's stock, you have to submit your ID, contact and full name to purchase them) someone in a local forum offered to buy the used pair of TG334 off me for good money as he sold his last year and Fitear wont sell it to him again lol.

My question is, I do really love the TG334, but this BS policy irks me, so any other universal alternatives to the TG334 I should be looking at?

Based on what is locally available, and what I would be getting for the sale:

another pair of used TG334 - lol but yeah
    NEW pair of Oriolus Mk2
NOS pair of Noble N6U (30%off clearance sale from local reseller)
    something from 64ear U4/6/8/10 ?
    or
save up for the AWW 500 AHMorph

    thanks in advance!

(No Soranik ION resellers in HK btw)

Wait FitEar has a policy like this? I suppose it made sense since there was a lot of those hoping to make a quick buck during the TG334 shortage era.

I am using 334 with wm1a. I am very happy with it. But I was " " this close to getting the Oriolus Mk2, because Oriolus Mk2 reminds me very much of the 334 but with sweeter bass decay. I tried the U12 from 64ear and I'll gladly stay off from it because it's not my sound signature (a little too dark for my taste).

Btw, caveat is I haven't try 334 and Oriolus side by side. I can't have an objective comparison between the two.

Got both in the same time Oriolus MK2 & 334 and I prefered the Fitear. More lively , more dynamic. I always found Oriolus too mellow & too "chill" for my taste

I agree with cocolinho, in that the mkII is a lot more 'chill'. While it's very good, I don't think of it as a replacement for the TG334. While you'd gain dynamic driver timbre and easy going treble, you'd lose the FitEar midrange, which is pretty special in my book.

And this was the kind of second opinion on the Shootout i was looking for. Thanks guys.

@Mimouille, Hope you don't mind, but i recently noticed that you have received your custom VE8. Really curious as to how it sounds compared to your SE5U; especially in tonal accuracy. Care to chime in on that?

I need more time with it as the custom sounds a bit different from the universal, but overall I really like it. To my ears, nothing sounds off. The bass is a bit boosted but very tight, highs are clearly non peaky, and mids are fairly even. The relative lack of coherence I heard in the universals (as if the singer and instruments were in different rooms) is not really present on the custom. It remains very impressive in terms of separation.

I will do some side by side with SE5 when I have time.

Great forum discussion. Newbie here, but have been annoying folks on headfi for years, introduced myself and rather enjoy this place, much more than headfi so far. So, I've been long looking for a competitive iem that has a similar feel to my he4. I am obviously not going to get that exact air/bass, texture blah blah blah. I've been told the Sony z5 was a fitting match, and am still waiting to hear back from a seller. Now, I have also considered the ex1000, the campfire audio jupiter, and even an Akg n40(different than others I know). I can get an ex1000 for 329, or if this guy resp0nds, the z5 for 350, then it's a decent jump to 450-500 for the jupiter. Only iems I've had are, hifiman re262, re400, 1more triple, havi b3p1, magaosi k3pro. Obviously all cheaper, and finally ready to go up a notch. Also, source wise, I would be using either my fiio x3i alone, or the x3i as a transport only, into my ifi micro black label. Any advice would be appreciated, and feel free to talk shit, I'm used to it.

Just saw on HF you've already decided on the EX1000. Can't say how close it is to the HE4, but in any case it's closer to neutral than the Z5.

I can't recall how the HE4 sounds but I've been told the Z5 is in basshead territory.

Good luck with the EX1000. If it's not to your tastes, let us know what you'd like to be different from it. It has some of the best bass in iems you'll hear.
