I'm on the loaner right now and you can even sleep sideways with them. Not that I did or anything...

Thank you all so much... I got many suggestions now and will slowly try them... :)

Tried various ones today for a nap. :)

Monk - Comfortable even laying on side. After 30 mins the long shaft plastic part press bottom of my ear and start getting discomfort.
Fostex T02n - Nope. sticks out too much.
ER4SR - NO WAY... it goes so deep by lying on side and not comfortable.

I will try Vsonic, Mee Audio and possibly AAW Q. Love to try MD Plus but it is not currently live so cannot get it right now but keen to get Plus as portable outdoor rig anyhow.

No joke, the dirt cheap Philips SHE3590 / 3595 aren't bad at all for in-bed listening. Ear pieces are tiny and sound signature is moderately v-shaped, well-suited for low volume listening. Here's @La Cenric's measurement: http://i.imgur.com/8sI0f1j.png

They are indeed very comfy. They are not the smoothest though. You have some mods for them planned @james444 ?

I personally can tolerate the stock sound for quiet listening. But I'm sure you can smooth out those highs a bit more with DIY teabag filters... haven't tried though, need to steal one of those pink pairs from my wife first... ;)

How are the Jays q-jays for 150$?

Seems right around my budget for an IEM that I need, don't want to spend 300$ to get a SE535

Just got it finlally and gave a nap with it and it was comfy without any problem. The sound is a bit v-shaped as mentioned. The high can be harsh if volume is up but I listen quietly when I take a nap so not a problem at all. And it block the outside noise quite well so good choice. Thank you... :)

FWIW, here's a little mod that works nicely with the SHE3950. Dead easy to perform and kills two birds with one stone... attenuates both treble and bass a bit, and makes them overall a little less v-shaped and more balanced.

All you need is two small rubber strips, which you can cut out of ordinary household rubber gloves:

Just place a strip across the center of the nozzle...

... and mount the tip on top of it. The strip in front of the nozzle will dampen treble a bit...

... while at the sides, it will cause slight leakage below the tip stem and lower bass a bit.

And that's all. Of course this will not only work for the SHE3950, but for most other v-shaped DDs as well.

But it super difficult to date models if you use pink iems with scotch tape on them.

So, more duct tape on the models?

Well I said rubber, not scotch tape. If you date models, you oughta use rubber anyway.

Hello friends. Any solid impressions about the Xelentos IEM? Could not find anywhere the thread, just little and superficial impressions.

Hello all, I'm wondering what mid-fi iem I could get that's slightly better than the Noble X but with a bit more treble extension? I love the Noble X but the treble is a bit lacking. Looking for something sub USD$350.

I just purged my old collection and moved on to pretty decent top earphones (Andromeda & Spiral Ears 5 way CIEM) paired to my ZX300. However I baby these a little too much and would like to get an iem that I can use a little more roughly and not worry too much when I'm out and about.

I doubt it's as warm as the Noble X, but the Final Audio E2000 is on my radar for sub $50 phones. Trusted heads tell me it's a very solid "all arounder" for the price.
