Was packing my room when I found my mums old walkman where I used to listen to her cassette tapes every night as a kid. Ah the feelssss. Model number WM-FX313 released 1995.

FM function still working 100 percent. Not sure about cassette function, couldn't find any for now to test.

Funny that now I'm doing well enough to own nice things like zx2, andromeda, HD800 etc. but all the resolution and soundstage in the world cannot capture again the magic of those nights tucked in bed, listening to shitty cassette tapes on shitty unbranded plastic ear buds.

    MEGA BASS

Looks like they still kept up with the MEGA BASS in a different form on the zx2.

Mega bass became Clear Bass which is a better digital dsp implementation of the former.

I got a lot of enjoyment out of one of these in the 1980s.

When it quit working, I took it to an Authorized Sony Dealer/Repair Center to get an idea of how much it would cost to repair. It was too costly. I messed around, trying to get it going again and eventually threw it away.

I had one as well. I bought it used with money I saved from my paper route. The Sony WM-10 Walkman still amazes me to this day the way it was engineered. Barely larger than a cassette case, and not much thicker. I actually looked on eBay last week for one and saw one with all the original accessories for $250.

It was cool how it could slide into itself when no tape was inside, like the pic above.

Tape inserted and slid out. The single AA battery for under the panel that said "Stereo". Great memories of this Walkman

SONY was quite an innovative and quality company from the 70s through early 90s. (Maybe 60s too. They were not on my radar back then.) It was sad watching the company slowly decline. I was a fan.

@JK47 - I can't find an image of the headphones that came with mine. It was earbuds with a headband. The earbuds fired toward the front of the ears. I remember thinking that they sounded pretty good. I don't recall seeing any others like it. I would be curious to hear them today.

anyone remember the Sony MDR-E888LP earbuds? Those really kick ass for sound quality back in the day where most earbuds sound worst than EarPods.

I had one of the yellow sports walkmans in the early 90s. Those things were built tough, went through the abuse of jhs and hs without any issues. Actually found a box of my old cassette tapes from back then, but no players to try them out on.

These were the earbuds that came with the walkman sport, but I think the other versions all used something similar just in different colors.

That is the design! (This design must have been around longer than I was aware.)
