Ahhh... acres of blue, back-lit Vu-meter porn!

Some real room-treatment porn too. I suppose the heavy wooden slatting is intended to disperse? Or is it some sort of Helmholtz thing? I think he should have done the cubby hole too, both for looks and for sound. I'd worry about the reflections from that cupboard handle!

But otherwise, short of pro-studio pics, this is the nicest-looking room treatment I've ever seen. Love the rug too :D

For a Helmholtz resonator you need a closed vessel with an opening, those slats are WAF diffusors I think.

    That cable mess though. Eeek.

Oh yes! Being an inherently messy person, I missed that.

(There is no such thing as cable burn in. But accumulated layers of dust make all the difference!)

This is a beautiful room, no doubt at considerable expense, even without the cost of the hi-fi porn. The alcove has an unfinished look.

But hey... I guess this isn't the Interior D├ęcor Criticism thread

Is this a basement remodel by chance? The first thing I noticed was the breaker panel box behind the $20k worth of McIntosh gear. I wonder if that means more or less hum?

It seemed to be lacking sub-bass (might that be the room's fault?), but as a whole it sounded beautiful.

Whether you consider this porn or not may depend on your color preferences. I don't have these in my possession yet, but I just saw that Jim Salk posted photos of my new Salk HT2-TL speakers in their photo gallery. It's bird's-eye maple, with (obviously) an orange dye. I like orange I guess. Seeing the photos for the first time put a smile on my face. Time to paint over the baby blue walls in my new house.

It's a deep orange. For comparison, here's someone else's Salk Soundscape 8 speakers in curly maple with a rose-red dye:

It's a Hi-Vis orange. Time to wear hivis jackets around the house.

Looks moderately porno to me. But if it puts a smile on your face... enjoy! \/

1969 JBL Dorians with their original crossovers, potato masher horns, LE175 compression drivers and LE14A woofers. Just beautiful. They're available near me and I'm going to audition them tomorrow. NO idea how they'll sound (never tried vintage JBL) but god they're pretty.
