    Sold!

Will these laser cuts be shipped out separately?
Or included with some magikal 3D printed straw holes or something, if that was also part of the mod plan?

I'm focusing on this first. Once I have an HD800s in hand and disassembled, I'll noodle more over the resonator.

I have a 24"x12" table - so I think I can only do about the same amount of pairs at a time. Your machine looks like it was cutting pretty quickly. Mine is only a 60 watt C02. I'm not sure how yours is setup, but I can lower the DPI to have a less steady pulse and it reduces the edge burn a little bit.

Ours is industrial. Best we could get $500k and under. Wattage is bonkers. Table is only 30x20, though.

We have a ridiculous lab, probably the best in the silicon valley attached to a big tech company. We can spin multi layer PCBs in house and we have the first Carbon3D printer. The guy who put it together headed up prototyping engineering for Tesla before we were able to nab him.

Looks like an Epilog laser. Very similar to what I use, cool stuff!

Ravi, is there an order list for this yet? I'll pay for cost plus shipping to Chennai (now that the floods have receded :D).

This product is exactly what people want, myself included. Rug liner is the single worst material I've had the pleasure of cutting due to how easy it is to deform.

There is no list yet :). Have to get more samples into Marv's hands for review and measurement.

I'm really eager to mod my HD800s (S/n 12xxx), this would be a perfect solution.

Listening tests at the meet seem to indicate this might be final. I'm going to clean up the DXF and post it along with materials tonight.

Interested to see what this would achieve on the HD800S.

Are there any measurements for the hd800s with this mod?

Bill will be measuring a pair soon. I'll send my pair to Marv at some point as well.

Marv is going to send me the z28 mod as well. I'm going to try to 3D scan it and then we can 3d print our own resonators.

If all else fails, I'll eventually pick up an HD800S and try all over again. All in all, I tried about 30 materials before I found this one. I narrowed it down to 6 and tested on the Gungnir Multibit and black widow + copperhead to find the material I'm using.

    This is the final material:

    http://rugpadusa.com/eco-friendly-rug-pads.html

You'll notice it's different from almost everything else out there. The weird material has a little more surface area than usual due to the unevenness of the texture which ended up working best.

I can currently make a pair for about $1-2 of material. @Bill-P is going to get a crap load of pairs and will be our official modder if someone is uncomfortable doing it themselves.

Oh, and once we have confirmed the measurements and all the bay area meet goers have had a couple of weeks with the mod, I'll cut a bunch more and send out kits for $10 or less to people in the US just to cover shipping and a padded envelope.

This mod is fantastic! Yeah, I care so much less what the HD800 sounds like.

All other mods have been alight, but this hits the sweet spot.
