We'll be getting this in thanks to heroic @Hands. Pre-emptively starting this thread to get a list together, even though the start date is some time away.

Here's a good description of the sound and other details from @Mr.Sneis

"The SFD1mkII imo sounds nothing like modern DACs, even Gungnir Multibit is not really in the same type of sound. The SF dac is warm and dense, it is great at detail retrieval and provides a natural non-fatiguing sound excellent for your less than perfectly mastered material. Gungnir Multibit draws more detail but is noticeably more forward in the way it presents this. Rolling tubes can possibly get you better performance but in my limited experience it doesn't respond the same way an amp would with tube changes. Use the included Voshkod rocket tubes if your amp/transducer is on the forward or brighter side.

The DAC also has a warmup timer of about 45 seconds so don't freak out when you don't hear anything after turning it on. Ultra Analog da20400/AES21. Inputs: Coax/AES-EBU/ST Optical

Installed tubes - Reflektor 6h23eb from PCX, including a set of Voshkod rocket 6h23-eb which are smoother sounding"

    USB un-dookiefier included: Singxer F-1

    Pre-emptive list (order may change)

Who is providing the Singxer unit?

So, some rules for this loaner. Since we already have more than 4-5 folks on the list, limit it to 5 days or so each. Insure via SBAF, I believe, is how we want to go with this. Signature required, UPS or FedEx. Note that it will be big, heavy, and cost upwards of $40 to ship. Established and well known friends only!

I will evaluated for 2-3 weeks or so before kicking off the loaner. If after I decide I don't want the DAC, I will sell it at a decently lower price point than what I paid.

The Singxer, it's mine. Do you want to try it too? If so, I can send it your way.

EDIT: CAPPING THE LIST FOR NOW. We want this short and sweet.

Nah, no need to try it myself, but you can either send it along for me to include or to whoever will be first.

I could do a direct shootout between this, the Gungnir Multibit I currently own, and a couple of Soekris implementations. I also kept a Yggdrasil at home for a year.

Sure, also, if everyone else that needs a converter could post in the thread, I'll note it in the list.
