Great for cheap speakers and cheap ear buds for average consumers who only count the beat so they dance on that while the rest sounds mushy and without detail.

A lot of Pop is engineered to sound the same but often overproduced to not sound too a-tonal or without melody. Babymetal is so formulaic that it that the recipe reads like this:
    1. Japanese school girls
    2. Metal backing band
    3. Combine kawaii with grinding guitars
    4. Combine cute (Pop) choruses with a lot of screaming
    5. It has to sound loud so people dance to it
Simple, effective and people into alternative music discover the mosh pit.

I'm bored with my DAC's that I currently use in the office (Centrance DACport HD or Massdrop O2+ODAC) and I'm tempted into a R2R sound.
    The budget is around 400-500$.
I'm considering Schiit Multibit or Soekris ApS dac1101 (380$).
    All suggestions are welcomed!

    thanks!

Currently considering Mjolnir 2, haven't made up my mind. I don't have a ton of local friends into headphone hifi so I can demo amps with my HD650's.

At least half the metal review sites go nuts over babymetal. Logic is "at least they are doing something original". f**k that. I'm no metal snob but gotta draw the line somewhere. Kawaii metal is a genre now! Old metalheads drooling over Japanese schoolgirls, extremely disturbing.

I can think of a lot more disturbing things. Their music, for a start.

I don't listen to J or K Pop and was surprised at how musically random it was compared to Western radio pop or old boy bands.

There is no grind; grind riffs involve two powerchords close to each other but not a progressiom grinding against a each other for texture with streams of melodic fills for the the music like old Carcass or Repulsion. The "metal" here is two to three chord powerchords progressions (could be in punk or rock) and atonal j pop on top that is completely random and atonal despite being hook based. The powerchords really have no reason to be there but make more musical sense than jpop cancerous tumors atop them as they are just caveman rhythm guitar work.

You can't really dance or mosh to it as the the music is random so it fails as club music too. Just more metalcore, this time for weebs to listen to on Audiotechnicas.

You'd be surprised at what people can mosh to. At a gig last year one guy suddenly jumped on a group of us, during the break between two songs, screaming "SILENT MOOOSHHHH". He deserved the punches and kicks that followed immediately.

This track is slightly better musically I guess, could have been able to finish it if they weren't singing, my ears. What a weak pit though.

you can't measure the Dr of vinyl, I bet the vinyl is mastered from the digital master, and old metalheads hate babymetal and would rather keep listening to what they liked 30 years ago.

Yeah there's not really a riff in there and the solos are kinda random. As pop it's a lot better but it still has that awkward soaring transition in the middle that's off-putting and probably atonal (maybe their voices just aren't good enough?) but you could probably get away with it in radio pop.
