With 97db efficiency, these should make for a good pairing with the Aficionado correct?

 

I have been looking for high efficiency speakers that would match well with my tube amp. These could be the ones!

 

I don't know your budget, but the Tekton Design Double Impact speakers are 98dB efficient and are a good match with lower power tube and solid state amps.

 

^^ $3k is out of my budget ATM. Sometimes I find a pair of speakers that I want. And decide to save for them, only to spend the money on the headphone hobby instead.

 

What about the stand mount version of the tekton double impact? That said, once you add stands (unless you make them - not that hard), they are still more than double the ZU's.

 

Non-audio related, but Best Buy has the Essential Phone for $449, $250 off its (overpriced) $699 launch MSRP.

 

Musician's Friend has the JBL LSR305s in a Matte Red color for $99.99 each. Some have claimed to have success with the promo code GIFT for an extra 15% off but others said it didn't apply so YMMV. Might be a good deal for someone who doesn't mind the color.

I placed my order for a Black Yggdrasil day before yesterday when they first appeared on the Schiit website. I can’t wait to see (and hear) how this pairs with my EC BW2!

 

I’m a big fan of this combo. Especially with HD800 but also with 650.

 

Thanks, @DigMe. I should update my profile page and avatar, as I have purchased the HD800 (SDR modded) and now use that as my primary headphones at home with my BW2.

At the office, I now use the HD600 with a Schiit Valhalla 2 and Bifrost Multibit (Gen 5 USB), which has been an awesome setup as well.

I still love my HD650, but they are not getting much headtime recently.

 

Pair of cheap desktop speakers from Polk on sale at azon for $50 a pair, no clue how bad they are, couldn't be worse than the Daytons, could they, haha.
