I would like to replace the X2 with something better not spending more than 400/500 USD
    Read around I considered : Audeze e EL-8 , the Beyer DT1990, fostex TH-x00 , HD700. but I'm very open to any good advice

Moved thread to the Advice Thread's Forum.

    Welcome BTW.

Stay away from the HD700 and the DT1990. They are pretty bad. I'm not a fan of the TH-x00 cans, but they are probably not as bad. Not sure about the EL-8, but I have not been a big fan of the Audezee cans I've heard.

I would consider perhaps an Oppo PM-3.

EDIT: You already got pretty decent cans IMO.

Pretty much this, dude. I'd maybe recommend improving your upstream gear, or maybe swapping the HD600s for HD650s, haha.

DT1990 and HD700 are a bit painful to listen to, the latter moreso than the Beyers for me. Currently have HD650 and TH-X00 on hand, rather prefer the former now, especially for jazz and classical. Considering asking friend who'd lent the Senns for a permanent swap, but I could probably sell my Fostexes for enough for a better condition 650 second hand.

X00 Ebonies are pretty well balanced though. My only real gripe with them is a minor treble spike that makes certain tracks painful to listen to, and vocal presentation. Survivable though.

Hello friend, how you doing, good?
Here in Europe you can’t find very nice HD800 for 600-700 dollars. It would be a nice match with the dark voice ymho. Have you ever considered it? Should try first because the sound is not everyone’s cup of tea
