Assuming he paid $1350, then $1400 including shipping (assuming he includes insurance) isn't much of a profit.

Update: to clarify. The "profit" may just be in the noise after shipping. I don't think he selling this it for profit.

dude would you care to explain how "making *any* profit" on reselling used gear, is acceptable?

Did you sell it here? Or on HF?

All depends on what his costs is to ship. A well packed box with insurance could be close to $50, I guess. depend on how he ships it.

And no, I do not think he should make a profit on used gear buying and selling on hobbiest sites. eBay, sure, but not here and HF and other community sites. Despite my lame title, I do not condone that.

It would have been better for him to sell at 1350 (assuming he paid 1350) + shipping given the popularity of the item, but he just may have not wanted the interactive hassle that entails. I realize I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. He may be a scum bag or the nicest guy in the world; I don't know him. I tend to err on the optimistic side.

I sold it on HF. Looking back at the transaction, he paid me a total of about $1385, which included shipping and Paypal fees. He's definitely not making much of a profit if he sells it for his asking price, though by charging Paypal fees he is transferring more of the cost onto the buyer than I did.

i agree we're splitting hairs here with what constitutes a profit. the larger issue to me is he's selling the amp at new price levels (with taxes included) and describing it as "mint condition" despite the LED power light having fallen out. that's very different from "taken out/removed" (for god knows what reason). i know the BW isn't in production anymore and its a limited run etc etc whatever whatever, so put whatever dollar amount on that that you want. i still think its a big ask for people to pay full price on something that's missing the "on" light :)

If it was on SBAF, a friend asking for $1400 shipped PLUS PayPal fees after paying $1385 shipped for an amp would be banned from our forsale forum. Forget the profit for a second because we're just splitting hairs here: he or she is literally asking for more than was originally paid. Not something we'd tolerate here.

Also, asking for fees is a big ass violation of PP policies. Either word your sale as a figure "net to me" or bake it into your asking price.

Fair 'nuf. That makes sense. People see things differently, and spelling out expectations is a good thing. To some, buy something for some amount of money, then selling it and having less money when it's all done is not making a profit. For other, the spirit of passing on the transactions cost is the fair thing to do. The latter is the expectation here.

In my personal experience I do the latter. I was just pointing out the the alternative view point.

If it's worth a drive to Downtown Brampton during the week you can try out my Mjo2/Gungnir Multibit. $2200 CAD is a nice price for the stack. After FedEx's fees on account of buying a set from the States I think I paid $2,800 CAD for mine a month ago, with some cables and tubes included.

Thanks for the offer! Might take that up once the crazy school year is over, will contact you.

Yeah it's good price, if I didn't get the Andros this week I would have grabbed these, Schiit products hold their value so could have easily sold them again without losing too much money.

Yep, we'll be here. I'd be interested in hearing the 800s on the Mjo2/Gungnir Multibit also. If nothing else maybe someone near by will put a meet together this Summer.

Well it's a good deal because it's cheaper than new and rarely seen used. The ring really helps flatten out imperfect vinyl and does make a difference.

So why would you pay such a premium for a BW2? Are they discontinued and no longer available from EC? I did a Google search earlier today and it said something like $1289 new or some such.

Edit - Ahh I went back and read a few posts I missed. Looks like it's super hard/impossible to get one. Still, the price seems out of whack for a unit that isn't perfect.

Mine arrived today. Looks like new. Well finished, knurled accents are nice. Nice weight to it. $80 looks as crazy as ever. Looks nice to me for the recertified price.
