I see Chrono Trigger already got a mention, but the Brink of Time arranged album is pretty good as well.

We listen to this a lot in my house. So much variety, plus it has Tapha Niang by Toumani Diabate's Symmetric Orchestra!

Bumping this old thread, but it's worth it.

Beyond Skyrim: Bruma has released. A fantastic and huge collaboration I definitely recommend checking out. Anyways, they got Daniel Ran along with a couple other composers to record original material (with some inspiration from the past games) for the soundtrack (with I believe a live orchestra). Personally I find it to be really well done, on par or even better than the original soundtrack for Skyrim.

See description to skip to different songs.

A recent game which I must say completely blew me away was Hollow Knight, a real little gem of a side scrolling rpg (if quite hard!). The soundtrack is also fantastic.

I've been playing this game in my spare time. Much more fun than expected, and the soundtrack is pretty damn great.

Hiroki Kikuta is one of my Favorite composers

The entire original SNES Secrect of Mana sound track is one of my favorites,

Jeremy Soule's debut with the Secrect of Evermore sound track is also a wonderful listen

Additionally, Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil OST is another favorite of mine, video game sound tracks have a real soft spot in my heart! They and my DT 880 where what drove me further down the audiophile path

i quite like the ape escape soundtrack by Soichi Terada who has enjoyed a lot of resurgent popularity due to his house records from the early 90s

This Game also had a pretty nice soundtrack, it's a shame that nowadays game-soundtracks are more compressed/screwed than those used before 2005.

One of my favorite bands, VNV Nation, is the credits song of Hellblade. This now counts as videogame music and you can be damn sure I'll post that. :D

DOOM 2016 definitely deserves a mention here.

One of my all-time favorite RPGs ever. Beautiful music for a beautiful game. I wish I can turn back time and play this game for the 1st time again.

Jeremy Soule, the composer of the Elder Scrolls series finally released his standalone project. Almost 5 years late. Sounds good though and it was recorded by a live orchestra.

I haven’t followed the drama closely, but I think The Northerner Diaries is supposed to be only a preview of the symphony Jeremy Soule funded via Kickstarter all those years ago... the final product is still not ready.

He released a preview to backers late last year, I guess this could be that in the form of a public release. This is getting a CD release too though next month through Bandcamp.

@Hooncake I'd say the art alone is worth it! Also, that's the OST for all three (well, technically two since Gestalt and RepliCant are kinda Pokemon Red/Green) games? My own plans to get a turntable have been pushed back indefinitely for a number of reasons but I NEED THAT*.

    Congrats! :)

*This sort of attitude for collecting franchise merch is one of aforementioned reasons.
