I really want to try Skyrim VR. It is potentially everything I dreamed VR could be growing up and reading about it in SciFi books and stuff. Essentially stepping into another world. All these mini games and "experiences" while a fun distraction, just don't do it for me.

The GT bundle got down to $199 this holiday, but that included the older pass through box that won't pass an HDR signal. Skyrim bundle had the new one but it was $350 most of the time.

I bought the V1 version as i only have 1080 TV and normal original PS4. It was about usd350 including PS Camera, PS Move, PSVR demo disc, and a girlish game (which I didnt touch).

I won't be buying full-priced Skyrim VR as I bought the X360 and PS4 versions already. I dont want to buy a third one....again. Enough money going to Bethesda for one game.

I tried Untill Dawn: Rush of Blood. Holy cow...scared the shit outta me. Didnt even make it to the intro screen lol. It feels very different. I will try again later.

I can see this will be the future of gaming. TV will be obsolete.

Anyone looking forward to Last of Us 2?

I loved the 1st game even more than Uncharted 4 (And I love Uncharted 4). The storyline was better than any zombie movie or serial imho. Very emotional.

We have a 3-sensor Oculus touch setup at work connected to a 6700k/gtx1080 system for testing/developing VR simulators. During down times or breaks we will play some games on it. I have found that the VR experience, at least for me, gets old. Right now 99.9% of the games for it are tech demos of VR features. The first few times you play something like space pirate trainer you marvel at how smooth the controls and head tracking are, and you can forget you're in a virtual world. Eventually though you start wishing for more depth to these games. Even Fallout VR, which we picked up a few weeks ago, is getting old fast. The only thing that we've tried where we say "there's no going back to monitors now" is with racing sims like project cars and assetto corsa. Combined with a logitech g27, a cheap frame for it all built from PVC tubes and an old racing seat, it's incredibly realistic and fun.

Edit: Also the resolution on the Oculus is terrible. Some of my coworkers say it looks fine to them, but no matter what I do, text always looks pixelated.

Favorite game of all time, which makes me nervous for the sequel.

Also, Red Dead 2 should be fun.

Bloodborne 2 still hasn't been announced, so fingers crossed there.

Just started Witcher 3, so that'll tide me over for some time.

Red Dead 2 is another crazy good game. Definitely looking forward to that.

    Enjoy your Witcher 3.

Just tried The Kitchen. Holy shit. Even scarier than horror movies. It's too realistic. I don't think I can survive Rez Evil 7.

In general: Humble bundle usually has something half decent for sale. If nothing else, subscribing for their monthly bundle will make sure you have something new to play every few weeks.

In Bloodborne related news (kinda): Shadows Die Twice seems like it could be promising. Still in the teaser-trailer stage of news releases, so gonna keep a pulse on that.

I would also gladly pay full AAA title prices for a good PC port of Bloodborne.

A Bloodborne PC port is basically a perpetual money bleed though, as far as ideas go. Playing it is a multi-step gain for Sony:

    1. You buy Bloodborne, which was commissioned from From by Sony to be a console seller
    2. Obviously you need a Sony console to play it
    3. Now that you have it, there's a non-zero chance that you'll tap into the ecosystem you already have, and give them more money
    4. Paid online!

Basically, any money they'd get from even like... five million 60$ sales is a losing proposition in comparison, as far as income goes. Especially once you factor in development, Steam cut of 30%, and further price slashes.

But speaking of Bloodborne... After two years a guy discovered there's a limited amount of chalice dungeons, two whole cut bosses (one with a unique arena and theme omg), and a whole bunch of cut enemies. Cool stuff!

I pulled the trigger on the Gran Turismo PSVR (version 1) bundle myself a few weeks back. I was quickly able to sell GT (40 bucks) as I already own it. For 160 I think the psvr is really great. I have an HDR tv and have been using a short male to female hdmi cable out of the back of my PS4 and just swapping the cable when I use the PSVR.

Skyrim VR is great... I can’t belive I bought this game again...lol Sure the graphics are stepped down quite a bit but the level of immersion and scale of the world around you is spectacular. Really a great experience!

I can’t imagine what the latest Resident Evil will be like on PSVR, I borrowed that from my library a while back and man it’s very intense.

In reality: I've spent more than $100 on Humble but the only game I end up playing is the F2P Dota 2 LOL.

Dont play at night! Even The Kitchen already scared the living hell outta me.

I dont think I'll play RE7 in VR mode for now. I don't wanna get a heart attack. I'll replay it in VR later.

Alright Switch owners, do any of you rock some kind of playing case that works with the dock? My kids are going bananas with it, and I'm shocked it hasn't been dropped yet. I know a case is a tough find for this device, but I was wondering if anyone has a win in this situation...

Hmmm, I wonder if that would help with a fall...

I have had good success with Nyko stuff in the past.

3rd party docks are also popping up here and there that may work better with cases.

Yeah, we have one at work- the tracking seems really primitive, the display resolution isn't great, and the motion controllers seem suspect. Both the Rift and the Vive are more satisfying, for all their faults. I suppose it's OK, considering a vanilla PS4 needs to be able to drive it.

That said, the industrial design of the PSVR is something wonderful- the way it fits on the head is great. Sony nailed that completely.

Im loving it. Im an old-school gamer and i dont even multiplay online much. VR is pretty damn amazing, despite its limitation.

I let some of my young nephews (8-10 boys) try The Kitchen and it's fun to see them weep lol.

Assassin's creed origins has been simply amazing. Picked it up in the steam sale and finally sat down with it for about 15 hours this weekend. So far, I'm loving the combat, leveled enemies, randomized loot, upgrade system, skill points, etc. All together makes it feel like a great RPG. The story is very well done so far. The facial animation is good, not great, but good enough to get nuances. There's a scene where Bayek mimics someone silently after their back is turned and it was very funny. It could have been mistaken as missing audio or a glitch but the expression on his face when he does it makes it pretty obvious that he's making fun of the guy.

Let's talk graphics. This game looks insanely good. With a 4790k and 1080 ti I'm cooking away at 90+ FPS on ultra settings in 1440p. This game is by far the best looking game I've played. Syncing at the top of the great pyramid at giza is literally breathtaking. My wife actually said "Ho lee shiiiit." And that's another plus to this game; my wife, who is not a gamer at all but humors me when I talk about them, and suffers through most of my shield streaming in the living room, really likes watching me play this game. She even asked me to pause it while she left the room so she could watch the cutscene.

    So far it's a 9/10 for me.

If anyone wants more info just ask, I don't want to make an even longer post if nobody cares lol

For the Switch gamers here, Switch Pro controller for $32.99. These are normally $80. Picked up a second one for myself.

Edit: Some users on Reddit are saying the seller is sketchy, so I removed the link. Have both Groupon and PayPal protection so I may just leave my order in.
