Circumstance forces me to part with my beloved VPI TNT MK 3.5 with SDS. This is the Mk3.5 so it has the Tri pulley, Delrin and lead platter, air suspension, external motor and the SDS controller provides speed control. Its in very good condition,I was just playing it last night. The caveat is that the motor it comes with was an early release black body but thats cosmetics, its exactly the same as the Avenger motor in performance (though I compared it with the 300 rpm Avenger and the TNT was 600 rpm). A new Hurst 300 RPM motor and pulley you can buy on your own, if you'd like.

I used this with an early Classic platter (no grooves on the sides) , a rim drive, periphery ring and SME V / Kuzma 4 points arm and the sound was endgame. I am keeping the rim drive and arms for now for something else.

I am selling the standard table, air suspension, delrin clamp, SDS controller, one old belt, cause i can't find the new ones, the black standalone motor with options to add the Classic platter and bearing for $500 and the periphery ring for $500 for the table buyer, if bought at the same time. It will also include two armboards, one drilled for a Tri-planar, and one for the SME V. VPI should have stock of the blank armboards this month. I've been waiting a year for it, so. The periphery ring does have a small lip warp on it but it doesn't affect performance.

The only thing you will need to do is supply your own arm.

Asking $2,250 friend pricing without the options. I have the original packaging, though shipping will be high, as think its 4 boxes, i have to check. The Sds sells from $ 650 to 750, so the table itself is only $1,600. There was a plinth alone for sale in Ebay last month for $1,500.

This can be your end game table, should knock the socks off the Classic tables.

Thanks for your interest in this. Pictures below show the rim drive. The TNT 3.5 only takes the single motor, not the dual motors the later ones can, but VPI can cut the acrylic to accomodate the dual motor, if you so choose.

Fantastic turntable!! Someone buy this one....you really won't need a turntable after this one, pretty much EVER.
The pricing is great Willy :) You will make someone smile cheek to cheek.

I am interested in this. I'll take everything. Just happen to have a 10.5 arm on a armboard for this... Will get in touch with you. Oh shit, I'm turning into @shaizada.

It is huge. @Daveheart actually had dibs, but graciuosly stepped aside to let @Marvey get it. I'm heartened to see people in this group get it, before i posted in the wild. It makes up for the heartbreak of letting go.

Hmm, Quads! Does the Superplatter match this better?

Quality turntables like this should remain in the "family". Glad it didn't need to be sold outside!
The TNT series are my favorite for their analog tape like sound quality.

@Wfojas , yes, I bought Quad 57's over this weekend. Perfect match with my EAR V20 amplifier, luckily! Apparently the amp was designed with the Quad 57 as the reference speaker.

I sold the super platter a while ago. I liked the Classic platter the best with the TNT series, especially for the sound I was going for. Compared 4 platters on my TNT.....Superplatter, Arctic Platter, Classic Platter and the old TNT steel acrylic Delrin platter.

Seriously? I'm good if @Daveheart still wants it. I should be last priority when it comes to stuff like this.

Well, the delrin lead made it dark, with the extremely well voiced Ear/Quad matchup, should be interesting, at least? Only thing is you have to swap out bearings, but thats like a 20 minute thing.

Just messaged you @Marvey and @Wfojas , but I'm good. I'd rather it not be shipped than get it myself, and I have plenty of other places to spend my money right now.

Better to avoid shipping this beast. There are no replacement plinths available for this table! Take care and treasure them!

Will be using this as a model for making a custom plinth for this, maybe two of different materials, with one matching the classic aluminum platter and the other with the delrin / lead. I'd mount the arms HR / Classic style, without an armboard.
