Hey man, hope things are good!

That blue pelagos is completely sweet.

You get a nato strap for the Panerai and swim all you like as well. But the Pelagos!

Some really pretty pieces in this thread so far!

Excuse the lackluster photography (I blame the Balvenie ... and my latent laziness in setting things up properly) ... but here's the current state of my "Tool" watch collection (I'll post my dress-watch and "complications" collections another time, perhaps):

    Tools.jpg

When I say "Tool" watches, I mean that in both the general horological sense, as well as in terms of why I have these various pieces. As much as I enjoy these things for their mechanical intricacy, precision workmanship and design ... they do actually earn their living ...

Starting with my "dive" watches. I actively dive with all of these (hence the dents and scratches); which I am wearing depends how the overall day is setup. They don't replace my redundant dive computers, but it's nice to have them anyway, and it saves leaving them in the car while I'm in the water. The Omega gets used for more demanding dives, when I want something with accessible timing for gas switches etc. (I still run proper computers for that, but having the analog back-up is nice peace-of-mind). The two-tone Submariner 16613/Serti for when I have some kind of function that I have to go to immediately following a dive.

    Dive.jpg

The next two are my "flight" watches. The Breitling Navitimer World being my preference if I'm in the left-hand seat, and the IWC when I just want something that I love the bold, stark, simplicity of (much like why I enjoy the 16610 above).

    Flight.jpg

And then the "odds and sods". The Carrera is just because I love the look. The Tissot is not really relevant in this collection, but I use that when I hike or climb (possibly in combination with a Garmin Fenix 3 HR, the combination of which looks spectacularly silly). And then my first "proper" watch, a late 80's era Tag 2000 Chrono.

I picked up a custom Resco Sea Pearl to match my UDT. I'll be gifting this to my wife on our upcoming 16th Anniversary. The folks at Resco helped me put together a female watch that came close to matching mine. Sorry for the poor picture, I had to snap this quickly before she wakes up.

I'll post much nicer pics after the 8th.

@Torq Please post the complications collection. I'm looking forward to ogling your collection, because if your taste in tool watches is any indication then I bet we're in for a treat.

Will do. I'm at my other house now/for the rest of today and likely tomorrow, so it'll probably be Tuesday before I get to that.

The Pelagos and Deep See have beautiful dials. Did you have a preference for the dials when viewed in person? My next tool watch will probably have a blue face and I've seen the Tudors in person, but not the Rolex. Thanks,

That Deepsea dial is very cool with the dark blue color and how it fades to black.

The Pelagos dial has a matte finish, which combined with the titanium gives it a pretty different look from other dive watches. It also feels notably lighter. Hopefully I'll have one of these soon!

The Deep Sea looks great on your wrist. It's a sub on steroids and it works for you, as does the Pelagos. Different, but both are great.

As I reach a milestone birthday, I'm thinking of a new watch in rose gold. Here are two choices.

An FPJourne I really like, it's a little more casual, which is good for me:

The dial is a disc of gold, which is then silvered and polished down to expose the gold base for the markers. Kinda cool.

And a Vacheron Constantin, which is more formal, and a bit small at 38mm, but looks great. I like the guilloche pattern on the dial, which is also a disc of gold which is then silvered and the pattern is carefully inscribed with a kind of lathe called a rose engine.

The pics are on my wrist.
What are people's thoughts on these?

Nice classic Rolex watches! I love the Explorer II, GMT Master-II, and Submariner. Which is your favorite and why? What drew you to these watches and Rolex?

    If there's more, please share!

    Thank you.

No particular favorite. What I wear depends on the mood.:)
But this one tends to get the most wrist time.
