    Dalmore 18 right now.

Right before we evacuated for Hurricane Irma I packed up my liquor cabinet, just in case of flood, looters, whatever. Finally got around to unpacking it all.

@griff609 put it in the whiskey thread, I don't think you're really drinking all of them right now? ;)

    Nice collection though.

Yeah I made a mistake, I realized after. I was drinking the Dalmore at the time so partially ok. Lol

I hereby nominate Funaguchi as the official cold sake of SBAF.

I was at Costco yesterday and saw Kirkland branded 7 year Bourbon for $20. Good deal for a bourbon, so I grabbed it.

It's not horrible. I don't know who actually makes it. A friend mentioned that he thinks Buffalo Trace makes it. If they do, it doesn't taste like any of their bourbon that I've had.

This stuff has more spice and heat to it than I prefer. For inexpensive bourbons, I like smooth, round flavors with a few layers of complexity. Nothing fancy, but something easy to drink (like Jameson, but bourbon). This isn't that.

It might be to someone's taste here, so I wouldn't discourage buying it once to find out.

I'll probably use this as a base to age something in oak. Maybe an oak aged bourbon old fashioned. It shouldn't be half bad as a base for that because it's a bit thin and spicy, which will help counter the syrupy sweetness that old fashioned ingredients impart.

It might be made by Jim Beam and a variation of Knob Creek.

I currently feel this is the most interesting whiskey you can buy for under $30. Unique flavor and reminds me of some other higher priced whiskies which are secondary aged in a wine barrel.

How is Kraken compared to Captain Morgan Jamaica Rum? Would you say Kraken is worth it even if you just use it as a coke n' rum mixer?

    I like it.

It’s a darker, richer rum. Strong notes of molasses. Less vanilla flavor, which most sweet spice rums can overdo. It’s strong too, 94 proof to the cap’s 70, so a little goes farther.

NOT a sipping rum, at least to me. Must mix with cola.

Oh, and add a cherry and a splash of cherry juice and you’ve got something special.

Happy Black Friday everyone! Remember, today Goose Island releases their Bourbon County Stout and other barrel aged products. I was able to get some of their barleywine.
