Depends on how portable I need to be.

Previous (Out moving around: iPhone 6s > UERM
Out of the house but fairly stationary (ie at work): iPhone 6s > GOV2+ > UERM)

Current (2017-08-30) Pixel > UERM

Pre much this:

Out and about: S7 Edge > Andromeda/earbuds
At a desk: S7 Edge/laptop > Mojo > Andromeda/earbuds

Don't have time to do much at home listening anymore, and when I do it's done on the KEF X300A speakers, so dumped the headphone setup (for now).

Depending on what I'm doing and my mood that day (and whether I'm wearing a winter coat with big pocket) I've given myself several options:

Default is a HiFiMan M-601z player (because it LOOKS like a crappy old cassette walkman ripoff but has excellent, near-Mojo SQ) with IEMs, most often Ostry KC06a or Harman Kardon AE-S, occasionally with a Beyerdynamic T51i.

If I can't/don't want to lug around a cassette-size player, I pair an AK XB10 with my phone and clip it on my belt or something. If I'm expecting to be out overnight, add the gray PSB M4U 1 (gray because IMO along with the HM601, it looks cheap and not even worth stealing.

have a pair of the massdrop RE-00s on the way too

the sine with cipher looks neat as hell tho, if I see one of those for the right price I'll bite. Same with any bose ANC phones too.

Note 3 > UAPP > ER-4P w/ MMCX adapter to Shure cable w/ mic+remote (adds obvious functionality and reduces cable noise a.k.a. "microphonics")
Use them at the gym to block out the crappy music they play, on occasional public transit journeys, on airplanes.

Will be upgrading my phone soon and considering LG V20, S8+ (when it comes out). My presbyopia necessitates at least a 5.7" screen, otherwise I'd consider an Xperia XZ.

I hear ya brother! ;)

Waiting on Noble X to ship ...

I don't have a dedicated listening space at home so I use an iPad (NAS > Wi-Fi) > micro iDSD > HD650M, which lets me listen in the living/bedroom, or foobar2k on a PC at my desk.

LG G5 -> B&O DAC Module -> 64 Audio U12 B1 module w/ Norne Therium. I have like 3 extra batteries for the G5 to keep me running. I never charge the phone itself.
Thinking of going custom for a while

HTC One M8 > Chord Mojo > Mazda 3. I drive to and from work for approximately 1.5-2 hours per day because of traffic. Usually I just listen to the radio but now summer shows are pretty boring. Listening to this setup gives me those occasional audio nirvana moments where I am rocking out in the car whilst becoming totally oblivious to what is around me. My life in the fast lane as you would say.

Do not bring out headphones out with me because normally focused at work or out with the gf (the missus really stuffs up the S/N ratio).

AK Jr -> Pinnacle P1

In the past few years I had a Fiio X3, X5, X3 2nd, some sony daps, used them on their own or with portable amps. I also had a Mojo with my iPhone. Mostly used an over ear Momentum, PX-100, Dunu-2000, Dunu Titan, DT1350, VE Zen 2.0. I don't know why but in my memories the best sounding kit was the first X3 with a bright amp and the Momentums. Maybe just because of the good memories I had in that time of my life.
Nowdays I only listen to portable gear while communting, or walking, so the outside noise will always hide the details. For example I could hardly the difference between the iPhone->Mojo-> any headphones and iPhone->app with EQ->any headphones in the middle of a crowded street or on a crowded bus. When I realized this I sold all my portable stuff. I'd only used my iPhone with EQ and the Momentums for a while and I was as happy as ever. I only bought an AK Junior recently because its is really cheap used in Japan and because I hate how difficult is to copy flac files to the iPhone.

The Clip's size and tactility helps a lot on the move.

Used to have a DX50, sold it off a year back to wait for the Geek Wave. Well how that turned out...

I've a few earphones to choose from but they invariably go into my original X3 when out and about. I must admit to thoroughly enjoying myself on the train during a trip to London, just listening to my X3 and a pair of lowly Shure SE112. No more is needed for me.

I have a different kind of going "mobile". Since two years, it means crushing on some couch for few days/weeks at some friends' house/studio/apartment. I've had different DAP (Sansa Fuze, Fiio X3, Studio V, obscure chinese rockchip-based), some (dac/)amp (HRT microstreamer, Ibasso D-Zero, Fiio E10, cMoy and some others) and various iem and headphones. Studio V and Porta Pro were my go-to set for a moment if I had not a computer nearby or HRT Microstreamer with my Beyerdynamic DT-150 (w/ Alpha Pads). I sold almost everything excpet for my DT-150. Since I broke the Sony MDR-V7, the DT is my only headphone. I plug it to my phone (LG G3) and that's it. It's clearly underpowered but I don't care on the go. I have the isolation, music and the classy german tank style on my head. I'll take a DAP and some iem in the next month because I fear that my DT will break my backpack some days because damn... this headphone is indestructible.

Very similar setup here.

QC20 for day to day commutes. Not much point in trying to get pristine audio on a subway when background noise levels are this high. Sound quality is decent for what it is and the ANC is great.

For travelling, I have a Mojo, SE846 and (recently purchased) Katana. The Mojo travels back and forth from home to work. It's such swiss army knife, I love it.

I also have an AK70, but the relatively high OI (~3 Ohm) had too noticeable effect on the SE846. I love the player for its UI and convenient size though, so few months ago, I jumped in a little adventure... I'm having an AK70 modded by Ryuzoh of Japan. His mod has significantly lower OI and apparently better distortion (THD and IMD) characteristics. Still waiting for it to arrive, it's been a long wait. I'll post comparison measurements of the AK70 and mod after I receive it. (the original AK70 is going to a mate)

I like my TH-X00 best using my iphone so it's perfect for use at work or a coffee shop. I have a Grace M9XX and I use it with the Apple camera adapter sometimes, but usually I just use my phone.

I need to mod the cable though cause it's ridiculous

How's the S8's audio output? I had the S7E and Note 5 before it. Note 5 was great, S7E (SD version) was noticeably worse.

I'd say it's a hair below my old iPhone SE, and better than any of the other android phones I've had in the past couple years (Oneplus 3T and Moto X 3rd gen sounded like hot garbage with sensitive IEMs)

Sony A35 > MUC-M2BT1 > ER4P (via MMCX adapters, red filters) for the gym.

Sony A35 > Andro w/ PWaudio No. 5 (as soon as I get the cable back from PW after doubling up heat shrink on the ear hooks)
