The best bang-for-the-buck upgrade that I've ever done for microdynamics and plankton was listening in a nearly pitch black room.

I use mostly Schiit gear. Pitch black room is impossible, short of creating a gravitational singularity in my room, which is not the best for acoustics.

      Plus, eyelids work well.

The HD600 at 21 years old is still more tonally balanced than 99% of headphones. Sennheiser, please teach everyone how to make headphones.

I'd say the HD600 are lacking in bass emphasis, but not lacking in bass (unless used with the wrong amp). The right amp with a good power supply will wake their bass right up, both in impact and presence. I used to think their bass was pretty weaksauce until I heard them on the right amp (Mjo2 or MCTH+LPS). TBH there are times when I wouldn't mind a bit more bass quantity, but I'm happy with the control and slam.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but "Gefen" supposedly makes very high quality products for HDMI bypassing/splitting w/ conversion to S/PDIF Optical (as well as: HDMI/DP to Coax/Optical Outs) but not sure on its total processing latency nor audio related output chip/re-clocker quality.

I never used one myself but heard a couple of uber-rich & super geeky Twitch streamers swear by that brand's quality...

Could you guys share some pointers, tips or tricks on how to avoid buying & eating Monsanto-made (aka: stolen->modified->patented->sued/fined->re-sold) GMO seeds (cereals, oatmeal, etc) or how to avoid using their carcinogenic ingredients (in household/pesticide/food products)?

The big deal is, if AD does this and handles it as most other random companies handle SPDIF, that would be sweet for the DIY folks... As long as one stays with AD, which may be a bit not-so-sweet. Time will say.

Notwithstanding pantie-dropping, it's pretty incredible to consider that the same group who recorded "You're the Inspiration" in the '80s had on their debut album a 7-minute track consisting entirely of Robert Lamm's guitar feedback. Just need Steven Wilson to give CTR the remix treatment.

Went this route due to my (surprising) HD800 comfort issues. Gap is much smaller than I make it out to be since I had the AD2000X from late 2012 - mid 2017. Purchased when it was released as an upgrade to the AD2000 though it wasn't really an improvement. Either way large portion of that time AD2000X was the golden years where I stopped thinking about trying new gear so often. I've just about reached that point again
