    TT+speakers?
    Can you give suggestions?
I seriously consider speakers now that I got First Watt F6 and Pass Labs INT-150 to drive the HE-6.
I will most likly keep the INT-150 for the convinience.

I really don't like this trend of ever increasingly priced gear. The HD800 made a huge jump in price when it came out and then all of the sudden it was the new norm. I fear with the HEK and LCD-4 we might see a trend towards even more expensive gear. What happened to times of the hd650. K701, and DT880 when something around $500 was the ceiling?

I had written a manifesto / State of the Industry article about two months ago which I decided to shelve. Didn't want to be too negative. Might be time to dust it off, make some edits, and post it. The increasing price of gear to stratospheric levels is disgusting. Just as disgusting as that South Park still.

    Carry on.

First things first, behead everyone who bought an SR-009 or an Abyss, that's half the problem... the market. I personally can't blame Audeze for wanting to sell a product to the ~1000 or so (speculation) people who will buy any headphone labeled TOTL and touted as being the best thing yet. However, the real money would have been in a successful, mass production EL-8.

Yeah, until that crook (and I mean that literally) Joe Skubinski came out with the $6,000 Abyss(mal) headphones. Looks like Audeze is trying to get in on some of that action.

I love the new plated grilles, but don't care for the carbon fiber. It just doesn't jibe very well with the more vintage wood cups. Should have painted it solid black or something. Think it would look pretty good on a pair of LCD-Xs though.

I think they'd need to step up their game on the industrial design of the EL-8 first.

or the sound of the EL-8. Man do they sound bad. Paying that much for such bad sound I think is a worse robbery than the LCD-3Fs

The Abyss is set at an insane price point but it kinda justifies itself through its unique presentation and sound signature that you don't normally find in headphones. I have serious doubts the LCD-4 is going to be meaningfully different from the rest of the LCD pack, let alone the headphone world.

Audeze claims ''The EL-8 features the world's most advanced planar magnetic technology with sound quality unheard of in this or any other price category''

EL8 open is at best average consumer sound and should be priced lower than AT AD900x. EL8 closed is just a colossal acoustic torturing device.

Based on the pairs of LCDs I've heard, I'll buy LCD2F at $400 max, and LCD3F $500 max. That's given their wooden nature - sonically I'll take a HD650 over anything from Audeze any time.

Speaking of amps, I wonder how much of a trainwreck their new amp "The King" is going to be. At $4k (competing with the likes of EC and Cavalli in terms of price), it better blow my f'ing mind.

Gosh, for crying out loud, $4k buys me Yggdrasil and rag...

As a new pyrate and still-within-return-period LCD-3F owner, I'm somewhat surprised to hear all the LCD-3F hate. I happen to like mine, and I got a good deal. In any case, the pricing on the 4 is just obscene. They should have to ask you whether you have any heart conditions before displaying the price on the website. You could buy a decent, functional used car...or a pair of headphones made of a few static parts.

(Not that you could buy it anyway -- Audeze's checkout system and Paypal payment system are down. They're apparently not accepting money for products right now?)

Can't say I've had the pleasure, or displeasure as the case may be, of listening to the EL-8s. Their industrial design was enough to keep me away. o_O

The EL-8s are not only very heavy but man their sound signature is way out of line along with their price. Honestly when I heard them I was like man maybe I was wrong about Audeze. I just have the LCD-2 (non fazor) and I think they sound great but then again Audeze was a different company apparently back then :(
