Thanks John - very good 2 cent summary. This PS is a definite improvement if you're using a very resolving chain. If not, put your money elsewhere. Anyway, we'll have a local Denver meet fairly soon; it'll be great to get more feedback.

I would like to pick up a Regen eventually. Are you willing to state the cost of the LPSU publicly? :)

Sure - roughly it'll be between $200 & $225; depending on cost for a case. That's pretty much all parts, with a few bucks thrown in for beer money. I'm doing this because a) can't believe the cost of commercial dedicated supplies, and b) I've heard just about every dedicated PS design, and for digital - Reflektor-D beats them all. I'm using the best parts for this application; Mills current setting resistor, organic polymer cap, Cree diodes, etc. if these boards / parts are gone when you're ready Hands, I'll still build one if you want - we'll just need to wait for another GB of boards.

A google search of "Reflektor LPS" gives pages and pages obout the LP release of Arcade Fire's album "Reflektor".

If I add " -Arcade " to the search, THIS PAGE is the top result. :)

Can you give more details on what a "Reflektor LPS" is ? Thanks. (I'm familiar with the Regen and own a Wyrd.)

A guy on diy audio sells them in group buys. I need to look into it more because I'm somewhat interested

Ok, I want one (or maybe two). Would you recommend the full kit or are there better options for some components? Suggested case?

I appreciate any help you can give...don't want to spend the time digging through over fifty pages in the build thread ;D

The kit build performs very well, but I've found you can achieve sonic improvement by using Cree diodes, Mills resistor (R1), and an Organic Polymer cap at the C2 position.

It's amazing that in the same Forum, we have guys who are questioning whether there is any sonic difference between the DAC in the $39 Chromecast stick and Yggdrasil.

Thanks a bunch, MisterRogers. I'll skim the threads for cases people use.

Really just need one but am considering a second to use in the gamma 3 build I'm planning. Not sure it would matter much with all the regulators between the ps and the actual components, though.

With 1/2" standoff's, this PS is about 3" tall. Most smaller cases work, but you have to watch the height.

Yesterday I posted my article on the Audioquest jitterbug. It created some heated discussions on Facebook but I kind of expected that to happen after stating it doesn't really work for me

Hi friends. My colleague bought a third-handed Wyrd a few days ago...And I rush into his home. Wyrd's good, open up the soundstage, but there's one little issue (not sure it's an issue or not). When we listened to some classic, Wyrd seems to reduce some dynamics, not as "explosive" as before...more polite?

I'm currently using the iUSB 3.0 to feed my Yggdrasil, but to be honest, I haven't bothered to try it without yet. I'm kind of with one of the earlier posters, in that even if it's not a huge audible difference, it's more of just a "geekery" thing. Big feature I like though, is that it has a second set of USB ports, that let you hook up a hard drive. I currently have an SSD for my music on the second set of ports.

I'm still using an UpTone Regen at work with my Emotiva Big Ego. Works wonders.

Objectively, it prevents dropouts and stuttering despite my USB on this machine being pretty crappy.

Subjectively, it seems to reduce grain. That could be in my head, but the first part isn't.

There is definitely a noticeable difference but whether it's negative or positive has yet to be seen. I am working on getting the final piece of the puzzle for us to potentially get a loaner tour with all three (regen, wyrd, iusb 3.0). Thanks to our gracious members we have 2 just missing the iusb 3.0
