It's a Klone. I built this half way though 2015 and still looks minty. I have another identical disassembled Lansing chassis and replaced the top lid of this Klone with a brand new one just to make sure it looks extra minty. It’s had very minimal use, I’m lucky if I get 12hrs a week to listen to headphones, rotate multiple amps, and do not leave my amps on 24/7. This is the second Klone I’ve built and sounds identical to the first one I built after I replaced the TKD pot at the customer’s request with the same Gold Point used in this Klone ‘Noir’. The GP adds some extra detail, instrument separation and soundstage. Here’s a linky: https://solderworksaudio.wordpress.com/krell-ksa-5-klone/

This is the original PCB Klone design by Kevin Gilmore with the dual zener regulated power supply. More details here: https://www.head-case.org/forums/topic/10702-krell-ksa5-klone/ . Gain is 5x and dead quiet with my sensitive AD2000. It will swing around 10Vrms and 100mA Class A biased quiescent current in a push-pull complementary output stage.

Amplifying sand is On-Semi MPSW06/MPSW56 and MJE15030/MJE15031, and Linear Technologies LSK389.

Over-sized heat sinks for low device/heat sink junction temps.

    Chassis dimensions: 16.75x12x4 (with feet)

Ground loop breaker installed, seen nestled been the PS and amplifier boards. There is no chassis LED indicator, but I installed a 3mm bright Red LED that sits atop of the terminal strips of the GL breaker, pointing straight up, and is visible through the chassis side vents. It looks swell.

The original Krell used an Alps Blue Velvet pot, I prefer the sonics of the Gold Point. It's a whopping 47 steps and not cheap. The transformer is a custom wound from SumR. Nice big NKK rocker, Neutrik TRS and Gold Point knob on the front, and Neutrik RCAs on the back. Signal wire is Neotech copper.

Comes with a liberal, infinitely transferable warranty and lifetime support. I don't want to see any of my builds dead in the field. If you own one of my builds, I don't care if you're the 1,2,3rd.... owner, you're my customer. I even entertain phone calls.

Total build cost was around $1K, with $625 for the chassis, TX, and GP SA alone, with all components sourced from a total of 7 different vendors. I'm asking $800 including insured shipping to CONUS. Shipping box is a nice heavy duty 24x24x12 U-line that will be lined with thick styrofoam custom cut by yours truly.

I am not surprised this sold quickly. Let me know when the deal is solid and I'll close this one Fish.

    That's a shame, I was hoping that it hadn't sold :)

Damn it to hell. I will get lucky one of these days. Got to quit being so gunshy.
