I don't suppose VPI "Magic Bricks" would be appropriate. ;)

I saw some Shun Mook Mpingo discs on ebay with a low opening bid, not long ago. I was going to bid and play around with them if I ended up high bidder at a low price. They did not end up selling at a low price.

I have the HD600s- 800 and Elear, but Marvey and too many others here said how good these were, so the evil Amazon had them on sale for $315 and that is way to good not to check out. I worked all day and had these burning for only 24hrs, put them on my head and wondered why the fk I spent a bunch on 800s and Elear, I still love the 800s for many reasons, but the Elears are on their way out the door, anyone need a pair, PM me, and I will get s second pair of 650s and mod one pair keeping the other for reference.

    Thanks people!!!

I just had to add one more post here... I can't believe I've had these on my head for 5+ hours, at levels, I probably shouldn't and I'm still grinning like a kid on Christmas day! I have to say that even though they are not, "burned in" if there is such an animal. ;) Foobar- Singxer KTE Ican Pro-tube1 Bass 2 is kicking fkn ass! These cans hit hard, the mids are a bit rolled back to my ears, upper less so, but very easy to listen to and fun. Hell, this is longer than I ever wear a pair of can besides the 600s and I been up 20hrs now and can't pull them off to go get some sleep.... Oh what a terrible problem to have. :p Current song, "Georgia On My Mind," Cover Annie Lennox.

Thanks again guys seriously, I have no problem saying these are the most pleasant/fun cans I have at this time.

Hi guys,, i have been using my HD650 unmodded for the past 6 months paired with iFi Micro iDSD

Yesterday I removed back foam, added dynamat and pair it with Jotunheim
I don't recall my hd650 sounded this amazing before, the Sennheiser veil is gone!
amazing bass, the bass is tighter, faster than before!
treble has more energy, smoother than iDSD, it makes idsd's high sounded harsher.

by the way, will Balanced cable sounds better on HD650? :)

Gonna sell my HD800 now... HD650 is more than enough for my end game. haha

The mpingos make senies qualities stand out a bit more vibrantly. Kind of like what HDR does over just plain 4k. Not huge but it grows on you and well Ijust refuse to take the head bolts off. Soundstage is also airier and bigger.

I found a way to clamp them as well which intensifies this even more. Yes it does involve more of those rubber fabric hair bands. Don't laugh...it works! Actually it is a bit silly all in all.. so go ahead laugh!

Therapy....! Yes Antje Dukevot... Towards The Thunder! Relationship went south or maybe north. Aaahhh but I got Antje and the end of the week I got a new Oppo DAC !
And in a couple of weeks it will have the EVS tweekshop mod! Life and listening is good. My 650's are better than an analysts couch. I will just sink back into my chair! Bring it Antje!

    Happy Listening!

A question for the experienced 650 users. If the words full, lush, and textured are used to describe top tier tube amps with the 650... which specific units come to mind (other than the ZDS)?

Maybe a tricked out T3? Hard to obtain but there is a T4 and/or T5 on the way.
    Didn't you have one though?

I would not characterize the T3 as full or lush. Keeping in mind I haven't heard any of these, those descriptors brought to mind what I've read about DNA amps or the EC Super 7. I'd also describe the headphone amp of the PrimaLuna Dialogue HP Premium integrated amp that way (and directly compared to T3 this week).

Well i guess it depends on preference and perception. I found something like a crack gooey and thick not lush and warm. For me the T3 enhanced the qualities i liked in the 650 which is a bit warm and lush. I guess you could call it neutral then but to my ears it made the 650 sing, source being Yggdrasil/lynx.

Maybe pre-CCS I would have described the T3 that way. Post-CCS, I'd describe it as neutral, ballsy, eye-poppingly dynamic, and rather textured. I don't disagree with you that it makes the HD6x0 sing (we have similar rigs).
