Even worse, Schiit does no sale pricing for holidays or Black Friday. Who do they think they are?

They'd be the type to snarkily take off one cent and then say "this is the lowest price these products will ever be offered at!"

I can see Schiit going "April Sales, -10% discount!" and a subtitle of "That's right, we're raising prices!"

Oh the irony: Schiit being the bargain manufacturer instead of Audio-GD.

Youtube today just recommended me this video. No idea why. Might be AI learned WRONGLY by my previous some schiit/chord watching histories.. (I also randomly watched some of his videos before)

On the surface, during the entire video, he says just good. But it's his style of reviewing. Not uncommon among sponsored reviewers. So reading between lines is a must.

He compared r2r 7 with Yggdrasil 1 (not Yggdrasil A2) .. and my adjusted interpretation is he was underwhelmed by the technical performance (he didn't say this.. but his expressions read so). Probably not as bad as S19 but still warm-poo at best. He didn't mention warm-up or stabilization though.

I heard agd master 7 two yrs ago. Imho it didn't sound shit. Maybe directly comparable to Gungnir Multibit if priced reasonably (around $900-1000). Will r2r 7 be an improvement over m7? I just doubt it..

I am posting this just because current rdac impressions reminded me of the sound of M7 when sounded right.

He burned it in for the better part of a year, and "the sound quality matured". Maybe there's some truth to the wine and r2r comparisons...

    Naw.

I have a friend who has the Audio-gd top of the line amp and DAC for his Susvara and the DAC (Master 7) is competitive with the Yggdrasil. The Audio-gd is warmer and has better stage and layering, the Yggdrasil is brighter, has better attack and details but grayer background.

He told me though the annoying thing with the Audio-gd DAC is he had to send the unit back to China two times for digital upgrades. For us Southeast Asia not so bad because of we are near China but I guess if you're in North America the cost will be significant. The effort is worth it though because the latest upgrade with FPGA processor (IIRC in 2017) seems to improve the DAC a lot.
