@DigMe it's a standard two pin configuration. There are about five million aftermarket options for cables.

Yeah, definitely. I will look at replacements soon.

The cable on it is deceptive. It can take much more of a beating that you'd think.

Mainly it's the length. Otherwise I probably wouldn't replace it until needed. I'm used to a bit longer.

The foam tips are the most comfortable to me but as I was playing bass and using these to monitor I suddenly remembered why I stopped using them - mouth/facial movements break the seal for me. So back to the large, dark rubber tips. These are slightly uncomfortable where they rub my ears (not unbearable) but they stay where they are and are quick and easy to insert. I'm hoping that the Symbios will be the perfect solution. If they're not then I'll keep looking and trying other suggestions from this thread. I've so far been satisfied with performance both for mobile listening through iPhone and Shanling M1 as well as for monitoring live music performance with the Behringer P-16 and X32 personal stage monitoring systems.

^Some of my go-to tips in general are now ML (Medium Large) JVC Spiral Dots.
Might give them a shot...I'm sure it depends on your ear size but these are good to have around for other IEMs too.
Also nice that you can dial things in with M, ML, L steps. (I keep all three sizes with me in a bag.)
They are a bit spendy, but you can get them on Amazon.

I can vouch for spiral dots too. The mediums are one of the only tips that work for me with these. They pop out when walking occasionally but provide a good seal otherwise.

CT- what Comply foamies fit the Plus bore?
it seemed the normal TX-400 taken off my Andromeda didn’t fit over the MD Plus bore size.

or maybe i didn’t stretch them on properly during RMAF haste....?

I haven't tried the MLs yet, but I managed to improve the security of the fit with Ms by inserting felt and foam under the flange to make a sort of hybrid tip.

    Symbios still work better though.

Hmmm, I believe that the Campfire Audio foam tips should fit. I will try and report back.

BTW, was very nice to meet you at the show!!

Andromeda size tips generally fit on Nobbly X. I got the Tx-400s to go on.

The nozzle is a bit bigger, so requires more forceful mounting. Try a bit of saliva around the nozzle for lube.

Comply T-500 are the tips you want for this.

..the 500 are a little tight, but go on with a little finesse. The 600 might even fit.

After spending some time with these I've realised that the fit issue is mostly related to the cable. Worn over-ear, the heatshrink section pulls the housings away and out of my ear if I don't have a vacuum-tight fit. Wearing it with the cables hanging in the air is not as bad as I thought it would be, since it keeps its shape pretty well, although it does look pretty awkward to use out and about.

I suspect a memory wire cable would actually be more helpful in this situation.

A real memory cable section is worse, at least in my experience with Noble universals.

I got my Symbios in like 2 weeks ago. I think these are going to work though I still much prefer the feel of foam on my ears over silicon. They hold a seal well, sound good (def a bit of bass increase), isolate well and are easy to insert.

The Symbios work for me. I find foam too fiddly and these give the convenience of silicone with the grip of foam. A decent quick insertion can be obtained be pushing/rotating, and a deeper more secure fit by first compressing then holding them in briefly. No problems putting them back in when warm, unlike foamies that don't stay compressed when warm.

Yeah I've been compressing/inserting/holding when I know I'm gonna have 'em in for a while.
