    Hey there folks,

Check out the SchiitFerBrainz YouTube Channel! There will be videos of us building Schiit, fixing Schiit, testing Schiit, and talking Schiit! All are welcome!

To start it all off on this thread, here is a video of how we build the Vidar from start to finish!
    Enjoy! Or not.

Any chance you can give us DIY types a rundown of your build rig? I love watching the build videos.

Do you have any repair videos? It would be cool to see you diagnose, do SMD rework, etc.

Hi, @SchiitFerBrainz ... Just one criticism.

Background music in these kind of videos is not at all necessary, but if you choose to have it, do please make sure that the level is lower than that of the guy who is talking. I don't know how much of a problem it is for those with good hearing, but some of us don't have good hearing, and I found it too much hard work to listen.

Still figuring out the editing software I think I got the audio part down now. I'll try to get it a little lower on the music part. I also want to find a way to minimize the background noise. Thank you for your input.

    - hack job isolation with thick curtain/blankets; build frames with piping/shelves/ropes/etc
    - cardioid mic instead of omni, plus windsock

Better equipment would be ideal. Unfortunately I am a bit limited in that aspect. Although things like that will hopefully come along with the continued success of the channel.

Awesome. I met Tony at the SchiitR one afternoon. Nice guy! He's was really easy going and answered a lot of my questions. Interesting to see him work.

@schiit Random thought seeing the Schiit sponser ad on here. You should have an ad that says:

    Schiit not SHIT

It would be a great T-Shirt as well. Have a product on one side and a cow pie on the other side.

    @SchiitFerBrainz

EQ-ing out a couple of the crap frequencies (A Low pass filter is usually good for broadband stuff like this) then gating the rest below the vocal range can help a lot. Both simple techniques.

A variety of mic makers also make really simple, cheap plug-n-play mics you can add to phones or video recorders. A windsock (or just a couple regular socks) over a mic can also help keep out treble crap.

Hey there Schiit fans! Tony here.

Between my regular Schiit work and regular life work, I just haven’t found the time or gumption to make more videos. As I’m sure you can TELL, my video productions skills aren’t my expertise (yet). I've recently looked at the stats and saw that the channel has over 900 subscribers and over 25,000 views. WOW! This is positive confirmation that despite the fact that even though the quality and audio just downright SUCK at times, there is clearly a number of people who actually give a schiit about this stuff. SchiitFerBrainz was kind of created on a whim and was somewhat of an experimentation. I had no idea the channel would get this kind of attention and it has inspired me to do more for the SchiitFerBrainz channel.

I really hope to finesse and fine tune my YouTube skills, and hope that you can hang with the learning curve. I have this thing… once I put my mind to learning about something, I kind of can’t stop until I’m really good at it. So let’s hope (for your sake) video production becomes one of those interests.

In the meantime, Here’s a Bifrost Build Video!

Have a great day! And hey…. Take it eeeeeasy.

So I watched the Bifrost and Yggdrasil videos, and they were quite interesting. Thanks for making them Tony! Then I watched the Vidar video at the start of this thread and I particularly enjoyed that. I own some nice stuff manufactured by various large faceless corporations, but there is something really special about seeing the actual humans behind the scenes that bring these great products to the world.

And after watching those, Youtube handily suggested some other videos from Darko Audio interviewing Mike and Jason about various things audio, as well as a Schiit factory tour.

It's fantastic to see how you guys engage with your customers - the book, the videos, the web presence - exactly the opposite of most said large faceless corporations. It is not just great stuff you make, it is the great people behind it that makes you stand out.

    Keep up the awesome work!
