I use the same username (sometimes without the 44) across all fora and for all my different hobbies and interests.

 

Fair enough. I just abstained from using my old handle because I'm well aware of the asinine quality of my old HF posts and wanted a clean slate. That's part of why I feel for the dude I guess, people deserve a second chance if they really mean it.

 

Initial lack of accountability aside, this is one of the rare times I've seen someone actually apologize for their behavior on the HTWF subforum.

Most people who get called out here dial their dickishness up to 100, do some variant of this:

...and earn themselves a quick ban. Maybe not doing so is noteworthy.

 

@MuppetFace - I love the term "trolls/griefers/dickwads" and suggest that we add that on to the name of this section, so it says:

"How to Win Friends and Influence People - aka Trolls/Griefers/Dickwads"

Let's say people take your word at face value, then I say good for you for trying to make a positive change for yourself and hope you contribute positively to the community. However you do not get a clean slate. You are not entitled for a clean slate. Past bad behavior will always have lasting repercussions. Got to work a lot harder than everyone else to get treated at face value and even then that may not be enough.

Reading your posts reminds me of how I screwed up my work reputation when I was younger. I worked up a rep to be the most unfriendly, angry and abrupt colleague at my workplace and pretty much burnt a lot of bridges. Now, I seen the errors in my ways, am trying to be less stressful and be conscious to act more mindful, but my rep still lingers, workmates will still approach me cautiously and it doesn't help that sometimes I revert to negative work habits when things gets difficult. I just acknowledge that this rep will always be there and that means I need to put more time and effort, more than what I am humanly capable of providing, in order to change it for the better.

So good luck trying to get out of the hole you dug yourself into. You might get out if you fully commit yourself to be a better non-troll poster than the rest of us.

 

This is one of the mos odd threads I've ever seen on an audio related forum. After reading through all pages I still don't exactly know what it's all about. I see some good trollin' over here but I'm confused nonetheless.

Marvey believes D2Girls is a troll (2nd post in the first page, look at the screenshot from massdrop forum) and D2Girls says she met Buddha recently and has a different perspective in life now.

no my name has nothing to do with disgea. i do like that game series a lot though. I was going to but my posts kept getting moved into this thread by marv. I figured I wasn't allowed to post anywhere else. I don't know.
I'm canadian and have always liked music. Always wanted to get into hifi audio ever since hearing kef blades at a local event 3 years ago. Finally decided to dip my toes into this hobby two months ago so I'm still very green. Gear consists of kef ls50, anthem 225 integrated and I'm ordering a schiit yggdrasil at the end of the month. I'd say the direction I'm headed into is closer to the summit. I want to get new speakers and a better amp.
