Greetings all! I know that this might risk jinxing things, or my getting flammed for even broaching the topic, but thought it might be a good idea to have a place for discussions related to the Geek Wave. Most discussion on the topic seems to be taking place on the Geek Out thread (http://www.superbestaudiofriends.or...2-infinity-and-se-impressions-and-reviews.76/), but hopefully there will be more and more to talk about related to the Wave (fingers crossed!) in the coming weeks and months (or years?).

To kick things off, the latest IGG update on the Wave does hint at being promising - https://support.lhlabs.com/support/solutions/articles/13000039482-wave-board-update-pics-10-24-17

There's what look to be real pictures of a final design of the PCB and some additional details on the design and some last-minute tweaks.

Here's one side of the PCB. Big open spaces for the battery as well as slots for the two SD card connectors.

And here's the other. The very top-right of this picture seems to show the volume potentiometer they say they've added to this version of the PCB. I'm going to withhold my thoughts on this until I see how the knob is implemented. If done well it will be cool, but I fear it might be too loose or too tight or have bad low-volume channel matching.

And here's an exploded assembly mock-up. Notice the physical buttons on the side, the back panel to allow for the carbon-fiber or titanium Signature versions and a battery that should be replaceable. I wonder where the volume knob is supposed to go in this view? Also they say it's supposed to weigh in at 350 grams, which is pretty hefty, being almost exactly between the weights of the Sony NW-WM1A (270g) and the 1Z (455g).

Looking forward to more updates from our 'friends' at LHL and thanks to @LHCommSquad for his presence and attempting to fight the good fight to get questions answered in the never-ending saga that seems to be the Geek set of products.

@mscott58 Thanks for the thread! We have about 5 boards produced so far and are waiting on the remaining. These are the beta boards and we're excited to get them into the chassis and loaded with software. (If) I can get my hands on one, I will be posting a full video over the unit. If anyone has specific questions, I can grab them from the thread and we can build another Q&A update from them! Larry loves doing the Q&A sessions.

 I hate the weight of the 1Z. ZX2 was already bordering on too heavy.

I hear ya. I pretty much use my 1Z exclusively on planes and trains, so it's not a worry to me, but when I've used it while walking it does have a tendency to want to pull your pants down. Fresh little bugger...

Over two weeks and no additional information. Perhaps I was too optimistic in starting this?

At this point whenever it ships I'm just going to take it as a good(?) surprise gift from past me.

I wish Brad Pitt from the future had come back to warn me that this was going to take two years plus to come out.

I don't think anyone could find backers/producers who would find the plot believable.

The Wave boards are expected to arrive this week from the factory. Theoretically by Wednesday.

@mscott58 Not yet. We have an update built but not able to be released yet. Some thing are happening behind the scenes delaying the update and it may modify the contents of the update as well. Hopefully I hear something by the end of the week.

We received the Wave boards from the manufacturer. They will be shipped to the Roseville, CA office soon. More information when I get it.
