Yeah great deal and I would be facing divorce if my wife showed up with these in our living room.

But, the speaker will love you unconditionally. So it's not a complete loss.

Lots of great deals to be had here. HD800, LCD2C, code-x, code-sex, and utopia all for some stellar prices.

Edit: this is only an interest check and the poster notes that he can't guarantee he'll sell the items but I think it's worth messaging him as I rarely see these items posted up for these prices.

I hate 'interest checks' as a general rule, but this is worse than usual, like holding a steak in front of a homeless person and then yanking it away. "Oh, just checking to see if you really want it!" Does he really wonder if anyone will be 'interested' in an accessorized HD800 for 5 bills? If you're ready to sell something, name your price and sell it, or auction it and take the high bid. Otherwise STFU. In short-f**k this guy.

I also strongly dislike "interest checks". Either sell it or don't -- f**k right off about your indecisiveness.

I can kinda see interest checks if you've got a rare or hard to price item that you're worried about underpricing. That way, if you get a bajillion messages right off the bat on your post, you can take the hint that they know something you don't and back out until you've done more research on what you've got. For commonly sold items like this, though, there's just no excuse.

I'll give you the benefit that he's 'awesome', so perhaps when you meet him you can inquire why he doesn't set a price for his non-Stax stuff, and sell it without the mysterioso 'I'll decide if you're worthy' qualifier.

I'm confused. All the stuff there is priced, and quite good prices.

I mean an HD800, with SDR and extra pads, $500!
Utopia for $2k! I'm pretty sure that's the lowest price on the utopia I've seen.

Before he edited it was pretty much as others have stated. Really turned me off too.

he probably was trying to avoid lowball offers from randos. I too hate IC posts, but at least he came around and post prices. If he ever sells his Stax and Carbon at those discount levels, I may have to brake open my piggy bank.

Regarding the "warranty not activated", at least for the Utopia the warranty is only valid with the receipt, and for the named person on the receipt. If you buy it as a gift, you are supposed to let the dealer know and they are supposed to put that down on the receicpt. The on-line registration doesn't really mean anything. At least that is what I was told by Jason at Source AV.

If you buy a used, unregistered set, I would verify with your local dealer or Focal as to the status of warranty.

I saw this ad when it was just posted. I responded within minutes and said I'll take the item I was interested in, please provide your pp address and I'll even cover shipping insurance and pp fees. Didn't hear another thing from him. Kind of pissed me off TBH. Four days later I sent him a pm and asked what was going on. He was a dick about it, sort of...quoting the ad back to me and talking down to me like I was a noob or something...not cool.

Now my sense is that he is posting some crazy low prices on items as an "interest check" but in reality is, in a clever way, using the attention and "buzz" to auction these items off at higher prices than listed. Probably much higher, although this is speculation on my part to a degree. I guess I'll reserve judgement until the items are sold and see how it all shakes out.
