I have a vanilla pulse that i've had since 3/15 or so, and while it needed a board replacement early on, that was handled under warranty within a couple weeks, and I've had zero problems since then. Probably such an outlier that it is meaningless, but a data point nonetheless. Probably the only time I've been in the rightmost portion of the curve on something like this.

As a counter data point I have a GO450 that has been working for a couple of years (IDK when too many superfluous LH emails for me to find out), and a Geek Pulse that died last year (~2 years). I hear that reinstalling the firmware will fix it, but I've been too lazy to raise a ticket since the platforms keep changing and wait for someone to respond since I have the Jot now.

(Especially retarded is the whole "f**k you raise a ticket for firmware" hijink.)

We're out of stock right now on all Geek Out items. I don't know when we'll get more in. You can find them occasionally on Head-Fi or Ebay.

As a data point, I've owned the 450, 1000, Go2A Infinity, and GO2A SE, and my buddy owns the 720, and another owns the GO2Pro. No issues yet.

As others have already pointed out, there can be issues with the balanced jack on the V2+, where it can become loose and needs a resolder. (happened to my buddy)

Does LH have your unit and just never returned it? Or what's the story? Was a fix attempted? PM me your details if you can with your name and ticket number and email address.

Oh, cool. It's great to see that we have more direct communication now.

If possible, can you ask Larry if he'll consider returning the original volume control scheme to 2.1 firmware on GO2A? Or if it's possible to roll back to a previous firmware?

Firmware 2.1 sounds great but... honestly, the volume control scheme is very annoying as I have to actively touch the piping hot casing of the GO2A to adjust volume using the two buttons, and it takes many many many many presses to get it to a listenable level since it starts out at low gain and needs to go through mid gain before reaching high gain. I far prefer the older scheme where one button changes the filter and the other one changes gain, and then I can do fine-grain control via my Mac's interface or buttons.

Also the older scheme is more seamless as the new scheme will drop all sounds momentarily every time the next volume step requires a gain stepping. The older scheme will just go from quiet to super loud on a gain setting, without dropping out.

Supposedly there's a way to do it, and I think I even confirmed that with Matt. I'll check with him and see if he can offer anything. I think others here on the forum have also done it; maybe they can post and let you know how to do it too.

I actually just upgraded my 2A Infinity to an SE and had them keep the 1.5 firmware instead of putting the 2.1 on there. I have the 2.1 firmware on my already existing 2A SE and decided to just have both for options for different purposes. Sometimes I find I don't get enough volume with the 2.1 firmware, and you can only go so far up the ladder until you hit 'line out' mode.

We aren't sending out firmware right now unless there's something wrong with the unit. If no one here has the 1.5 firmware, I can try to get Matt to dig it up for you.

    Thanks!

Yeah, please look into it. The new firmware sounds good but it's just so annoying having to adjust the volume this way. I know it should work better when GO2A is used as a portable device mated with my phone or something like that, but I think that's more the GO2Pro than the GO2A. GO2A is mostly just mated to my MacBook or to one of the front-facing USB slots at home, and at that point, it's far easier for me to adjust volume using the keyboard.

Wait, I just read your responses again.

It's possible to "upgrade" an GO2A Infinity to SE level?

Yes, if we have those parts left and if they're taking orders/requests. If you're wanting, I can check with Matt to see what the existing inventory levels are at this point.

What version do you have again? The cost is whatever the difference is between the SE model and your existing model.

We have a Go2Pro in stock. If you want to order, PM me for details.

We also have a 2A in stock from what I understand. If you want, PM for details.

But you don't mean that the SE is still $799, or?

The SE price is still 800, so if your existing 2A model costs $300, then you'd just pay the $500 or whatever the difference is to upgrade to the SE.

I have the Infinity version. Been thinking this might just be the DAC I'll have for digital and then stop there, so... might as well go all the way. I wanted an SE version but by the time I could purchase it, it's out of stock. :(

I am going to try to get a full rundown of what exactly we have and what can be ordered in what configurations on Monday. I know we have very very limited stock on all Geek Out stuff, so it's going to tough to just simply order things.
