I considered it at the beginning, but the driver itself turned to be pretty costly, so selling it as a separate part will result in about the same price as some of the lower-to-mid-end planars. Still I wonder, what price for pair of Odin drivers seems fair for you?
Another problem is that we never got to the point when we have enough of them in stock.

There's also talk of an Odin Mk3 which is lighter and possibly uses similar drivers to the Thror?

Maybe @Drakkard can comment here, as the main English language source in that thread is kind of not awesome at English, so details get lost a bit, plus unconfirmed.

    I stole it from @jexby #noshame

I've never shopped for drivers, neither am I a modded so my estimate probably wouldn't reflect your market, but I guess I can picture it becoming a platform for others like the vali drivers.

I guess as a company that is a big risk to take.

How high a price for the drivers alone, if I may ask? Seems to me there are quite a few enthusiasts around who love modding their headphones, so offering vanilla drivers and some basic components (headband, adjustment mechanisms, etc), plus options for modular chamber tinkering (kinda like Lawton Audio does I guess, for the Fostex TH-series?), could draw in quite a bit of traffic.

Then again, it all really depends on the pricing. I know I'd be happy to have a pair of cans whose tuning I could change by swapping a few parts around, going from bass-heavy monstrosities to something with lush mids or a more neutral presentation, but if the cost of doing so is close to that of a new pair of cans themselves, well....

Yes, there are plans for it. It will be basically the same Odin, but with reduced weight and more comfortable headband.
    Tror will have different drivers.
Vali v.2 is also planned - weight reduction and possibly different ear cushions.
Lowest price assuming direct sales only via our website will be $200 for drivers alone. It's my personal rough estimate, and might be noticeably higher all things considered.

Speaking of DIY drivers, for instance, Vali drivers are available for purchase on some sites like parts-express. So far I did not see any diy thread related to them. So I don't think diy market is that large. Kind of sad, as I'm into modding myself, love to tinker with some old planars.

I don't mind the weight so I'm kinda glad I just grabbed the original Russian tank Vali the other day :)

I was very, very tempted by the that crazy Pale Moon Ebony Odins

Anyone else find the CSDs on RAA utterly opaque?

Yep, I agree, sadly. Extremely hard to decipher.

There is always a room for improvement, eh? :)
There are so much more that can be done here, but unfortunately, not possible to do at Kennerton at this time. As much as we could do in current circumstances - it is there.
Personally what I wish I could do or add:
    - Try different earpad options. We will soon order some samples from Japan factory, and see how it goes. Hard to predict a result when ordering overseas.
    - Improve leather parts of the headband. Same, ordered some samples, will see.
    - Try to add something like fazor. It's a new part, new expenses, and also not sure how to do it without messing with Audeze. So most likely will not happen. But I tried it long ago and liked the result. It is a logical step to go after our semicircular magnets, after all.
    - Different damping. Current damping somewhat softens the edges, and I believe speed, soundstage and detail retrieval of the driver is still not fully utilized. Damping we used on the prototype in 2014 was different, something like on He6. I liked it more, but we had problems with diaphragm stability. We changed much since that time, so it could work, but we need a lot of time and several samples to test, something we don't have.
    - Completely re-do the headband. It's just something we can't afford.
    - Totally new driver designs. But thats not part of the Odin story

Thank you for the honest answer @Drakkard . I can see how working in a small manufacturer can put some limits on what can be tried before declaring a design is good for production.

It seems you have gone a long way from the first model though, and competition is always good in the market.

Maybe I'm weird, but I'm one of those who find the current one to be one of the best around.

I guess if I shared my cans with ex. a spouse of would think different, but I love how I never have to worry about it going out of the perfect position ...

Hoe many versions of Odin are there? I was not aware there is an Odin mk2 or mk3.

They put another version of their planars after the Thror.

Havent heard it - not really interested in chasing the amps to drive them well.
