    Hi,

I have to downsize my living room setup so sadly I'm selling my beloved 3.6R's.

Price is $2650 (edit: $2000) including the stands (~$600 value). I'll consider all offers. Local pickup only in Los Angeles County. Located in Burbank to be exact.

    Condition is excellent.

They come with stock passive crossovers and floor spikes for the stands.

I prefer them with the tweeters on the outside and they do surprisingly well given how little room they have at my place. Very sensitive to placement, with a narrow sweet spot. Not for everyone for these reasons, but the sound is exceptionally smooth, with great bass extension for a planar speaker. Read on other forums for more impressions, or send me a PM.

I don't have any packaging for them aside from the magnetized strips to protect the ribbons. I purchased them used from a dealer, and transported them in the back of a SUV with blankets and pillows to protect the mid and bass panels.

    Thanks!

Maggies are great speakers whoever winds up with these is going to have a treat. I lived with Tympani 1Ds for years. If I was in your area and had the right sized room I would be all over these. Good luck with the sale!

I totally agree....I also had the Tympani 1-D's....Quite power hungry but no other speakers could do female vocals like these could...Damn I miss those things.....The new ones from Magnapan...$29K... makes me long for my old Maggies...;)

These 3.6R's look great in Black! my Maggies were black too...The new ones in Blue and White look sweet as well

Price drop again. Getting desperate to sell as I'll be moving out of the state in a month.

    $2000 is a steal.

So easy to hide. Just paint over them and say you've suddenly developed an overwhelming passion for installation art, and that they're by an artist who's so cool nobody's ever heard of him.

How much power do those need to be well driven? I doubt my M-22 could drive them but would a 60 watt tube amp have a chance?

Don't people talk about using 1000W amps for these bad boys?

You could always convert to bi/tri-amping and run the M-22 and tube amp on the tops, then get a cheap Crown or something for the bottom.

I run them with a GFA-555, which puts out 325 W into 4 ohms. Like planar headphones, they do best with clean solid-state power, and I'm barely tapping into their full potential. The 555 does a solid job though, plenty of headroom to turn my small-ish apartment into an earthquake simulator.

I'm sure you could get away with using the M22 or a tube amp for the mid-sections or ribbons though. @Armaegis has the right idea. I hear they have good synergy with the bigger Pass amps too. I always dreamed I would someday build a couple F5 Turbos for them, but that will have to wait.

@zerodeefex @jexby Funny thing - I'm actually selling these because I'm moving to Denver into a shared space where I can't keep them. If I could move with them, I'd bring them and sell to you there. But it looks like I'm moving with only what fits into my sedan.

wow. it would appear with @zerodeefex wealth, he should rent you a mini van or trailer to move them into Colorado directly.
get in touch once you arrive, and we'll buy you burritos at El Taco de Mexico (on Sante Fe) once you arrive.
