An evolution of their Odin planar, with less warmth and more air, and lighter at iirc 470g (at least for the bog oak version).

    Has a new funky-looking driver.

There's some measurements around, but the CSD is unreadable and no distortion measurements.

Price is insano premium planar territory at 3.5k eurobux.

I heard a final proto at a show and liked it enough to order one.

Since I'm unqualified to give opinions my copy is off in a few days to get measured and then a limited EU loaner tour, assuming anyone wants to pay shipping on a 3.5k insurance headphone.

Driver assembly is adorable! At that price though I'm thinking it should be competitive with the likes of Susvara and Utopia et al, meaning you prefer it to those? Nice! Waaay out of my ballpark but nice! Looking forward to your impressions!

Also, am I reading those CSDs correctly and there's some long-rived ringing at 3k and ~8k? That might bug me, but ridges seem to go down to -18dB at around 2ms which is... cool? I think? :))

Just over half the price of a 6$kvara, which I've never heard.

I can still stretch to this level of money, but no more.

No idea about the CSDs, I find them utterly impenetrable.

Take the FR with a fistful of salt too, they're broadly indicative but something about their setup is weird.

D'oh, was thinking of the wrong HFM headphone. Mea culpa :)

Definitely taking all the measurements with due caution, but they do give something of an idea on what to expect. And yeah, took me a few moments to figure out how to read things so I'm really just waiting on people to get ears on them, haha.

They know how to win my heart. I'm quite fond of the yellow drivers. Would match my yellow headphone cables, chair, controller, and keyboard cable quite nicely.

The previous Kennertons I heard definitely make me interested to check out their new flagship...
If you are serious about a limited EU loaner tour I might ask to be considered to be taken in, even with a 3500 € insurance fee...

Kennerton is way better built than HEK or Susvara though. It feels substantial and a work of art (also heavy and uncomfortable to wear). Though that still doesn't justify the high price tag.

Anything above ~$2000 just seems like it should be jewelry. I'm not saying some things aren't worth the cost with R&D, rare materials, excellent build quality, low volume sales etc but I don't see the cost justification here.

I'm with you. Pricing trend is POS. Especially >USD2,000 IEMs. Makes speakers feel like insane value.

I can't comment on weight, these are less than 500g, my auteurs are over 700 and I can wear those for 8hrs no issue.

They're definitively not uncomfortable though, once you get them dialed in.

What they are is stiff: you can't just jam them on your head and expect comfort, you have to bend the headband to fit your head and then unscrew the little frankenholders on the sides and move them tighten test repeat, and eventually they disappear from your head and you never have to mess with them again, ever, which is rather wonderful as the Atticus has smooth posts and it's always moving around on me.

I'm not sure about the older Odins though, this is supposed to have a wider headband @Drakkard? It's barely wide enough, my cups are maybe 1mm from the yokes and I've flattened the headband considerably.

I was commenting on the Odin (since Thror looks very similar in design and build). Comfort was the main problem with the Odin. Yes, too stiff and bad weight distribution. But Its craftsmanship is very impressive. Better than anything I've seen so far. Even Abyss, LCD4, etc. If ZMF is Yin, Kennerton would be the Yang version. And relative to HEK/Susvara, I felt it was way more worth its price. But still overpriced overall.

Glad if Kennerton fixed the comfort issue with Thror. Though price is even higher at USD3.5k. Ouch.

Thanks for the graph @Vtory. I should have sent mine to @sorrodje this week but I had work being done on the terrace and kitchen this week and headphones aren't a huge concern when all I can hear is power tools, next week hopefully.

@Jerry my stable here is ZMF Ori, ZMF Atticus, ZMF Auteur, Kennerton Vali, Kennerton Thror, TH-X00.

I'm basically disqualified from making value judgement on wood headphones forever, there's an obvious bias at work.

What a collection of woodies lol. Where is the Magister? Your Yin/Yang is slightly imbalanced.

I almost wet myself when I first saw the Magister's dark brown wood cups.

It meant lower leather headband that rests on your head that is wider)
I also wish we could price it lower, lol. If our direct sales were handled better it might be possible, most of that price is distributor and dealer margin. We need something to make distributors want to work with us, still-not-well-known-russian-weirdos.

Why is the Thror higher-priced than the Odin? Looks very similar. Would be great if Thror can just replace Odin (or as a complementary sound sig) and sold at the same price. Just a thought.

It's drivers are more expensive in production. So there is some reason for that. Relatively small sum goes through several multiplicatives till it reaches the customer.. And here we have that difference.

Just received @Taverius 's thror. Surprisingly different from what I remember of the Odin. First contact is not bad at all. I'll give it a few hours of listening to elaborate an opinion before to measure it. :)

Big set-up in term of perceived weight and comfort overall. Well done @Drakkard :)

thks to @Taverius for this loan.
