yes, but the amp is billed as "back to basics, no feedback" .......and now we have feedback, and I didn't know when I asked for the cap mod that it entailed moving to a feedback design. Perhaps it is better synergy, but I won't know since I can't compare it to an un-modded one. Question please: if I want to kill the feedback, can I just disconnect the tertiary windings, or is there more to it than that ? Thanks for all comments and replies !

I'd get that sorted with them directly, not here. If you wanted no-feedback and that isn't what you got, I'm sure they'll straighten things out, I'd assume at no charge.

Sounds like grounds for a Bay Area mini-meet.

From your tone, I think you're pretty unhappy about the fact that you got a feedback amp without notice (regardless of whether having feedback or not would sound better with your Jupiter caps). Craig apparently did what he thought was best, but without discussing with you beforehand. I get it.

Well, you know what they say about Aficionado...

If anyone can host in the Bay Area, I would be more than happy participate in a meet up to unscientifically compare sonics between feedback/Jup caps and no feedback/stock caps, have some food and drinks, share favorite music and hang out.

I’m up for a Bay Area meet. Hopefully could bring my ZDT Jr. but it’s stuck in Russia. Hope the summit goes well. :D

Ping me if a Bay Area meet materializes. I'll offer to host in a large Google conference room as well. I don't have much in the way of gear to bring anymore, but could throw something together. We haven't done one of these in a long time. Maybe we can even shake out @CEE TEE and @drfindley for old time's sake.

Don't mind the crabs that dislike your post.
That was hard love meant for me, haha..

    Regardless,
I will be upgrading an Afficionado with caps and Transformer covers by end of week.

Caps just came in and Transformer covers on the way.

I assume they disliked it because it was a 'low quality' post that was mostly just a reaction picture. I thought it was funny, as I always found automotive paint finishes indicative that the designer was more interested in looks and flair, then actual parts and performance. Which craig is not known for with his EC products. I've gotten used to the fact some people just don't like you no matter what you do.

ps. good luck and congrats on your AF upgrades.

Thanks but the Aficionado is not mine,
As I am doing it for a friend, as that's what SBAF friends do lol.

The main objective was an internal cap upgade,
While the transformer covers were actually an afterthought, which I can understand is a preference thing which others may disagree upon.

But it was to hide the visuals on the left transformer:

Anyways I will post some before/after sonic impresions and pics once done.
    Cheers.

    Well obviously there are some
Well, obviously there are some exceptions. I suppose usually would have a been a better word then "always".

Spoke to Craig. A misunderstanding on his part. I guess he assumed you wanted the same build as @raif. Said he'd change it to no feedback for free and cover shipping.

Unless you need the gain, I'd wait and compare if you can.

Thanks Marv ! Agreed a comparison would be great to do. I'm curious. I am happy to bring the AF, a set of EML solid plates, a set of Sophia Carbon 300B 2.5 volt for 2A3, and my HD800S cans to anywhere in the Bay Area to do a comparison with a stock AF. I think it would be interesting. Thanks again for your help.
